Then why did you bring it up? It doesn't prove your point, it only proves that they didn't make it through anything and were left sailing away from Ark-space.

Are you trolling or something? The portion of the quote you left out changes the entire statement, I don't see how that's NOT relevant.

Now your just being Ignorant, Cortana clearly states that they made it through the portal just as it closed.

Yes, I'm totally ignorant for not accepting your non-existing arguements and utter sh1tty trolling attempts. First you say that The Arbiter made it through, the mid portion of the FuD was left inside slipspace and the rest is with Chief. Now you say they all made it through the portal, and ignore something said by the godlike Cortana of yours.
Clearly you have an odd definition of the act of making it through a portal. IMO it means arriving at the destination, which Chief did not. Neither was he left in slipspace, because then he would be killed by the hazardous enviroment. He was not sent to a random destination.
He was left outside the galaxy. How hard is it to understand?

On July 7th, 2589, Halsey performs a eulogy to Spartan B-312 on the re-terraformed Reach. The existence of this speech indicates that at some point, Halsey and the other Onyx survivors eventually escaped the Micro Dyson Sphere. Then in 2610, Three years after its conception, the completely hand-crafted John-117 Monument was finished and placed in the Museum of Humanity to commemorate the Spartan's timeless and selfless dedication to protect Humanity. Which means they never found him. So after all that time Cortana probably went rampant and master chief probably died inside of his containment cell sometime after wards.

-I hate it too.

well he was gonna die but right now writers at 343 are changing that now that you posted this. no seriously dude don't assume he died. this isn't marathon. Bungie has stated they are in separate universes (although it would be cool if they were the same) so there is no "rampant" stage of AI.

They are not in the same universe but AIs in 'Halo' also have a rampant stage (and then finally a meta-stable stage) read Contact Harvest, Mack the AI goes rampant (or near to it)

They made it inside the portal but didn't make it out.Think of it like a tunnel. The FoD went into side "A" but was cut in half exiting side "B" when the portal collapsed most likely dropping the rear half somewhere between the ark and earth, or wherever MB sent it. If they didn't make it in the chief would have been killed by the Halo.

Not making it through a jump means being left inside slipspace, not being left at a random location between point A and B.

Well then here is a nice little idea. If you wnat to know where he is look on a map of the Haloverse, find the location of the Ark, find Earth, then look for planets in between the Ark and Earth. You have a better chance of finding what planet the Legendary planet is. Now if only there was a third location then you could tri-angulate the location.

This FORERUNNER Slipspace though, they were much more advanced than any of the other races, that we know of, currently alive in Chief's time, and eventually an object will be spat out of Slipspace. I think it's much more like that all of the Dawn made it into the portal, and then Chief and Cortana wound up God knows where with the Dawn's rear half after the portal collapsed. If they had still been at the Ark then Chief would have died in the firing of Alpha Halo(B).

The last red halo. sleppy times all over.

They were on reach in that time portal thingy not onyx

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Chief is obviously no where near the Ark (>25'000 light years away) otherwise Halo would have killed him.

Watch Origins and you will see 7 Halos being sent through the same portal simultaneously yet exiting at different locations all over the galaxy. It appears that the Forerunner could redirect matter in transit. Mendicant Bias could have done the same with the Dawn.

you can walk through an open door but not a closed door, but if the door is closing as you are walking through it you get pushed back. Slipspace doesn't work like that.

I won't even try to act like i know all the physics behind it because That isn't my specialty on this forum.

The front of FoD is the part that "made it" through the portal, meaning this was the section that arrived at earth along with the Arbiter.

The Rear end of FoD was the part that "didn't make it" meaning they didn't get to earth. We believe that Mendicant bias allowed the Arbiter to get back to Earth but changed the destination for chief which is why that half isn't at earth.

When a slipspace portal closes it doesn't push you back like a door does, you go through but you can end up at any place in any time [presumably]. But seeing as this was a forerunner portal and they understand slipspace far better than the covenant and humans, chief wasn't killed like we also assume happens when a portal closes. So somehow MB changed the destination to go to the LP that we see at the end.

1. If chief didn't make it through the portal like you think he would have been killed as others have said.

2.If he was left outside of the galaxy it wouldn't take years to be found as they would never be found by the UNSC. The UNSC don't have the tech to travel outside the galaxy let alone the Orion arm, even if they could it would be impossible to find them in "the void".

"The measure of a man is what he does with power"-Plato

John drifted to Cybertron and teamed up with Optimus Prime to fight the Decpticons. The Halo array was actually a cover for the oldest technological find in time its self, the Cube.

i love playing halo! and i would love being a bungie beta tester but my biggest dream would be working with bungie to make new kick ass video games!

Well they could have worked on the monument and chief and cortana landed somewhere and something was going on. He didnt die hes just busy doing something else where no one knows.

  • 04.14.2011 12:35 PM PDT

I am a monument to all your sins

what you think that they would throw out his monument if they found him? they probably find him eventually and just keep the monument up because he certainly deserves it
