Subject: Halo 3- The end? You can bring it back!

I have been playing Halo 3 since launch, it is without a doubt my favorite game of all time.

But when new games come out, the old games get left behind; first Modern warfare 2 (Which I also loved!, then Halo reach, when halo reach came out, the Halo 3 population was pushed below 4000, but soon managed to have a consistent population of about 15000, because of people quitting reach due to its 'lack of halo feel'.

The halo 3 population was soon declining rapidly, soon dropping to 8000, then Black ops came.
Black ops stole many of the dedicated Halo 3 player, pushing the population to 4000 consistent.
NOTE: The population you see in Halo 3 matchmaking is isINCORRECT.

And since then the population has been rising slightly. But will fall soon unless something happens.
I say we bring back the Halo 3 population, get your friends , family, or whoever you know to start playing Halo 3 again, and ask people on reach if they would go and play some Halo 3, and would most likely remember this great game and possibly stay.
If we do not take action, Halo 3 will soon be lost.
Thanks for reading.

yeah, ive only been playing halo 3 for a couple of months now and not alot of players go on now. ive been in playlists where there has only been about 200 people in it. black ops and all the new games are stealing all our players!

I have both halo 3 and halo reach. While online I usually play halo 3 online because of the armor (still cool) and the great maps. But I use Reach for the forge. Rock on halo players! :P

I agree halo 3 is halo 3 and nothing can replace it. when i have mates up we have the most fun on halo 3. The armour on halo 3 is actully unique on halo reach any noob can credit boost and get the best stuff but in halo 3 you actully need to meet the requerments of the armour.....halo 3 needs skill

Yeah it's just that everyone thinks that H3 is dead, so theres no point in playin' it, but that's why theres no population, because everyone has that mentality.

I have played on every button layout for Halo 3 in matchmaking.
It changes with my mood.

The reason why people left Halo 3 is because of the stupid games that came out for the past few years. It irritates me for people to tell me such useless explanations of why Reach or the COD franchise is anymore fun by getting armor lock spammed or noob tubed across a map.

This sig will Self-Destruct in 3.... 2.... 1.... Thank you for your time. Cookie?

Halo 3 is Halo 3.

Halo Reach is Halo Reach.

You honestly can't change other people's opinion. I honestly like both games, and I still play them both with a little Modern Warfare 2 on the side.

If people leave to play newer games, let them. It's probably part of the stupid community that only cares about what's new, recent, and epic, and don't care about the quality or care put into the game but rather the fact that it's new despite the fact that there may have been little to no improvement or that it may be radically different.

I honestly like the changes in Reach and play it because of them, but I also thing Halo 3 is unmistakably awesome and I play it still, too. People will play what they want to play; it's the game that brings people back, not the fanbase crying desperately for attention.

Besides, think of it like this. The less people that are playing, the more likely you are to get people that actually care about playing fair.

ThunderCavaler7, can't say I disagree with you, but you gotta miss that time when you knew you were part of a huge community, when there were 100,000+ people playing.

If those 100,000 people were still playing the game 3 years after the games release, that shows dedication, and those people (that are now playing other games) need to remember what was so special about Halo 3.

No doubt about it, Halo 3 was and still is my favorite game.

I miss the good old days of gaming. Back when it was about having fun and people weren't just obsessed with Call Of Duty. People used to play for the adventure, story lines and interesting gameplay, not for getting famous or how good the graphics are .......ugh I wish we could go back to that time... back when getting famous and graphics weren't EVERYTHING to people. Back when the gameplay, storyline and adventure were all that mattered.....those were happier times-OpTic Niko

I got bored of reach and started playing halo 3 again. No that great at it, but I'm enjoying it. And yes the population has dropped dramatically. I was playing team mythic the other day. At one point the population was only 20. And in the other playlists it's only a thousand odd. We do need to get it more populated.

This.

I search 2s in slayer, get cheated or a deranker.
I search 3s in slayer, get cheaterd.
I search 4s in slayer, match tryhards.

Search any level but 50, derankers.

Halo 3 is dead.

All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I think it would be better for bungie to shut down H3 matchmaking than to let it slowly die out.

No it wouldn't.. What would Halo 3 players play then? Obviously we don't want to play Reach.

All the cool kids are doing it

Me and my girlfriend have been playing Halo 3 for last couple weekends. I think it had way better multiplayer levels than Reach

  • 04.13.2011 3:38 PM PDT

Good I enjoy play halo 3 every now then I will play again this weekend. Hopefully more people will come.

Some of my friends don't play Halo 3 anymore because of the stupid EXP progression system. They should make it that you get XP for completing games and more for winning them, not just earning XP for winning games because it makes it harder and longer to rank up.
