Reporting for duty

In halo wars his body is pushed of a ledge so how did they get the armor?

They didn't. The Arbiter in H2 and H3 has a different set

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Each arbiter has a different set of armor.

Due to the suicidal nature of missions the Arbiter is sent on, it is rare for the Arbiter's armour to be recovered in a usable state. Thus every Arbiter receives a new set, built to a standard design.

This one is the best, listen to it.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Ripa (AKA worst Elite ever) had different armour.

  • 04.12.2011 5:55 PM PDT

He might have customized it later, but it all starts out the same.

Citation?

If each set of armour is made to order, why is there a very special storage pod thing in the mausoleum of the arbiter just to hold it? Am ornamental storage pod implying that this set is kept and revered upon until such a time as an arbiter is named once more and there is need of it again, as if it were very old and had a long history?

Also half-jaws comment on the gas mine, something like "Take care arbiter, your armour is not as new as ours, your camoflage will not last forever."

I actually prefer thinking that the armour is new each time, but there seems to be some discrepancies with the whole arbiter thing, like they havent really thought about it too hard yet.

There doesn't need to be a source for the info. Arbiters are made for suicide missions to redeem themselves, that we know. And of course the armor isn't always recoverable, like in the case of Halo Wars (you know, the whole exploding mini-sun).

But I do agree with your last paragraph.

I'm pretty sure the whole age thing is a giant scam. The Prophets pretty much screwed Thel over, I'm sure Truth planned the Schism well in advance and made Thel's armour accordingly.

I remember reading that there is a number of Arbiter armors made and stored, and whenever one is either A: Not able to be recovered.
or B: Damaged to the point of being unusable.

They pull out another set.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

inb4. He has 'special' Arbiter armor.

  • 04.12.2011 9:56 PM PDT

Well maybe the covenant made the armor in advance, not only after one dies and that might explain why Thel Armor is less advanced.

  • 04.12.2011 10:00 PM PDT

Ahh where did you read that? Very interesting.

Ripa did have special armor, he was massive compared to the other Elites.

No it doesn't, dont be silly and take a deep breath.

If the armour was to be carried over from Arbiter to Arbiter what would happen if one had longer legs, bigger shoulders etc ? Imagine an Elite stepping out into a fight wearing a rather ill fighting set of armour - complete with muffin top stomach and gaffer tape to hold certain parts on

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Each Arbiter´s are is the same design, but for obvious reasons they were many made.

  • 04.13.2011 4:50 AM PDT

The source is the Halo Encyclopedia, dubious I know but there it is.

As for the storage pod, everything new comes in a box.

Half-Jaw's command refers to the fact that the design of the armour is ancient, and has never been updated to accommodate advances in technology.

Not true.

Ripa 'Moramee's armor is the only Arbiter armor that is known to have been destroyed and not recovered. If the armor is recoverable, then it will be returned to High Charity's Mausoleum of the Arbiter to be reused by the next Arbiter in line.

Definite proof: In Halo 2, when Rtas says to Thel 'Your armor is a bit...older than ours...' or something along the lines of that.
