yes I suppose there are quite a few letters sent to the site, but then bungie is a popular producer, and yes the webmaster is a busy man but surely, a one line response to an enquiring email shouldn't take up too much of his valuable time even if it is framed as an insult, that wouldn't bother me. What does bother me is that there is no response at all
I don't understand the idea that insulting the person whom you're asking for a favour is going to get a faster response, or even any response.
A "one line response" takes longer than you might think.
Say it takes about two minutes to read a letter, draft an answer, and send it out. (A little low for some, a little high for others... this is a rough average.)
Now let's say that they get, oh, a hundred letters a day. (That's assuming we've reached 50,000 users, and that about 0.2% of them draft a letter to the webmaster every day.)
That's two hundred minutes a day. More than three hours. A DAY. During crunch time.
Not going to happen.
Of course, using non-standard spelling/grammar/punctuation increases the reading time, making it harder. Add in the repetition and the sheer neediness of many of the letters (and the necessary shots of Wild Turkey between to numb the pain) and I could understand if the Webmaster just ignores the in-box. And yet we do sometimes get answers.
If I may channel for the Webmaster (as he appears to be rather busy) it's a frikin' beta. It's not finished yet, so quit whining about a damned pretty-in-pink glow whose temporary loss is only a major disaster to the Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy set.
-- Steve points out that you said you didn't mind insults in the answer. He's taking you at your word.
