The anger didn't start with the punctuation and spelling. It did touch on it, but (if I may don my analyst's hat here) it probably started with the thread title.
My first line expresses wonder at the idea that insulting the Webmaster would lead to faster or better results. Doing so in the title looks like the antics of some of our most notable spammers... so of course it touched a nerve.
In addition, the post didn't show much appreciation for the SCALE of bungie.net... remember, it's HUGE. It has 50,000 registered members if I correctly remember the estimate from last month. Personal answers to every email, when the total volume of emails must be ENORMOUS, are just impractical.
Finally, the question wasn't about the Webmaster's core function, which is to keep the site running. It was a question about a secondary feature of a game that's yet unreleased. That means it's low priority; when other more pressing and urgent questions are in the works, the Webmaster would have to set it aside to deal with stuff that might bring the site down.
I pointed out that maintaining contact with all the emails coming in would saturate the Webmaster's time, leaving little time for the vital functions of his job description. (Keeping the website up. Note that we've been having trouble with posts lately, enough so that Achronos had to put out a news item on the issue.) So Bungie can only answer a small number of letters, either directly or through the Letters to the Webmaster section.
Yours didn't make the cut. Sorry, but there's not much else to say except that very few others did. (And even if it had, my "channeling" is probably closer to what you'd expect to get than an in-depth answer. Go read the Webmaster's archives to see, if you don't believe me.)
Expecting an answer just is unreasonable, especially during "crunch time" where staffers are running 100+ hour work weeks. Sorry.
That the post was very difficult to read and clearly understand your post only provided a convenient target for expressing the negative feelings that arose from all of the above.
As far as the condescending attitude here, YOU started the thread with an insult (in the title!) and your .sig uses "sticks and stones"... expecting others to treat you gently after that is expecting a bit much. Treat others as you expect to be treated... or brace yourself for slagging if you come in slagging, if that's clearer.
Take this as an opportunity to learn; presentation matters. There's a world of difference between "I'm having trouble with [fill in the blank]" and "[fill in the blank] SUX!"... please look for the differences, and figure out how to post more like the first and less like the second. I think you'll like the results if you do.
