...out,
ill post the pages the info pops up on, but two things that i read are of great interest.
Firstly On Page (will add in a bit) The didact mentions upon revival i think, "what the old ones unleashed upon us" point massivly to the flood being made by the precursors.

Secondly it seems the halo's can destroy the Precursor artifacts after all, as the halo's disrupt all neurological patterns to nonsense reading cryptum it states how on charum hakkor the precursor runins were destroyed by the halo due to how the building are build using mind basically.

always a good thing to read a book more than once ...

"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

That's intresting,so the flood being really the last middle finger to the forerunners might be true..

But all of this is based on Didacts conversation with the prisoner. We shouldn't rule out the possibility that he's lying.

Why did the precursors locked the captive?Who knows he really is a liar.

I really don't know,i hope the next books will reveal teh truth

Or the precursors didn't lock the prisoner there, and the Forerunners learned to a small degree how to operate and manipulate Precursor technology (much as the Covenant did with Forerunner technology). Perhaps the prisoner was kept there by force of the Forerunners, and is in fact a Precursor - who would in turn have no reason to lie to Didact about the Flood.

indeed?

this quote i mention he said to chakas, riser and the manipular,

Not sure if Greg bear would make the didact a liar, maybe i am wrong.
and as for the Captive, well if ALL precursor ruins and ships are only coherent due to a living precursor keeping the neurological link active, then one would have to be locked down maybe, Especially if one precursor HAS to be alive in order for a gravemind to function. It would also explain the captive's rescue from charum hakkor by mendicant maybe.
Also it would explain why the captive was in a time lock, i assume it was found in a time lock in the first place, that would be the only way to store a being whilst having it alive, for it moments have passed whilst outside thousands of years have flown by.

perhaps . . . . .

I'm not saying the didact is a liar, but the captive himself.

Oh well i think he is right, but didn't told us the full truth and i think there is more behind that story.

The thing is i don't see the point for a being millions of millions of years old to lie about anything really. what is the point? what could it accomplish?

on a side note the terminals say that MB received communications from the gravemind first leading to them meeting. Any idea how the precursor could communicate while inside the timebolt?

Maybe Precursors have some weird magically super abilities to do it,i mean it freaking survived a nearby Halo ring pulse .
