My Group ≠ activity

Except for TCC, that place got active again.

I'm glad it is. We should thank Kuniklo for that i guess. :)

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Yeah Mabian we're waiting on the new topic you promised. No math!!!! I am a pretty active member in a good chunk of my groups, but I really don't feel up to making a group of my own. There are better people at it then me. I am more than willing to help with any of the groups I am a member of though.

You guys have two new topics. Aren't you all lucky.

Currently, activity is not something I really expect from my group. The brain is not used well here on Bungie.net, with only about one-third of the members understanding that a period goes at the end of a sentence. I don't expect then that a lot of people would understand quantum physics, or any other type of philosophy/science. So activity would be great for the group, but I don't think many people would expect to make such a group and expect to have a lot of activity.

...if there were no drunkards, we today, would have no hobos...and the world would be a boring place.

I've had three or four groups that I've created that I've deleted (boot all members, then leave the group) because nobody was active.

I would say mine are semi active. Elite Warthog division got popular (we have around 40 members) but have declined in activity in the last month. My other group, The 501 Elite Legion is around 50 members strong, but is about the same as my other. only the same 5 or 6 members are active.

i'd have to say that at least half the groups i'm in aren't worth to even look at sooner than once a week because of the lack of activity, which is kind of sad. Although the one's i mod or admin in are checked daily...unless i don't feel like it, of course.

My group is dead in the water. All about cars and transport stuff but no one bothered joining. 7 members. At least thats got to count for something round here :-)

But seriously I thought more would join as people love their cars and like to talk about them.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Depends if I'm allowed to claim ownership of Body Politic now Reig isn't around so much. If so then yes, it's active.

Come to think of it though, Mongul Knights is only slightly less active than it was in 2002 and Theme Masters' activity waxes and wanes according to when people submit new work [and I presume when the theme queue is cleared]. So things are pretty steady these days.

I have somewhat the same thing going on. The chapter owes its activity to two or three other members mainly, but I was one of them. The founder used to never go on, but he came back recently and activity has really picked up (relative to what it had been, of course =P)

With 70 members and about 10 that post, I guess thats pretty good. Considering MSXL has like 400 and 15 or so are active members. Activity in my group is like the tide. It goes up, then down, the back up again... Or shall I say Heart monitor, or a basket ball, or that little bar on my cell phone that tells me if I' am getting service. You get the point...

We need to do something big to get the groups on a roll. They are being left in the dark. Even groups like the mighty chapter founders is having a problem with inactivy. Why!!! People join groups then never post in them. I only have about 7 active members in my group and they don't post everyday. (Don't worry guys from POI, it's O.K, but its the inactive guys I am getting at.) We need do something. They made the 7th Column, the groups. Off the topic of the groups the 7th Column area needs some work. Anyway, the groups need something to give them a dam good kick...

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

I would consider my chapter active, although due to my absence because of other things it is starting to die a little bit. That's ok though, once I have more time I'll be able to kickstart it with some awesome things. At least I hope so.

I am very happy to hear that Sketch and Achronos are planning some awesome things for the Column.

Yeah, your place is active, thanks to me, Achilles, and Berthwacker. Aren't you lucky to have three active people to keep your group alive. Otherwise you'd just have yourself, Toast, and TGP. That wouldn't be much fun then, would it.

Moap has died down a bit mostly because its not summer anymore. Most of our members are high school students so they can't stay up as late anymore heh. Seems like we are always most active during the summer months.

MSXL: The Last Honest Chapter

Well if stosh is posting stuff about his chapter, I suppose I should post about mine. :)

MSXL pretty much has went through it's "ice age". It seems that I am addicted to starting successful online projects, and with every new one I start, MSXL gets thrown on the back burner. The problem is, with MSXL, I took care of all the content, all the time. Granted, there were a few vids that people helped out with, but almost everything was done by me. I ran the contests ( anyone remember the quiz contest?!), the content, the news, etc etc.

Eventually I hired on some dedicated staff members, and it was at this point that we were at our peak. The staff was doing their job with gathering news and moderating the forum, and I was doing mine with pumping out cool/funny stuff. But eventually, when the staff got less excited, and started slacking, then I got kinda overwhelmed.

Oh yeah, and then a little think called HaloBabies.net came along.

So currently, we are not dead in the water, but we are no where near the activity level we used to be at. There will always be people that post occasionally, but I remember the days when content I posted had a big audience. Now, it's just the few loyal members. Still cool though. Who knows, maybe with Bungie's next project, I can restore MSXL to it's orignal glory.

=)
