I cant see/join any Halo 2 pc online games.

I have win 7 64bit no av or firewall enabled.
Even bypassing my router all together -
Windows live works fine as far as I can tell - works with audio and DOW II

If I try to join a friend by invite or otherwise I get
"You can't join this party because it's no longer available"
Same error others have if I invite them.

Searching servers to play on I get
"There are no live game servers at this time"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Guessing the games for windows live reporting upnp - unavailable may be the issue.. windows 7 has the discovery enabled though :/

I cant believe it.. after hooking up my router with upnp enabled.. now it's showing open in games for windows live. It makes no sense it wouldn't show open without the router..unless it needed to release from when I disabled/re enabled. I also found that even though windows firewall was set to disabled, there is an administrator setting where you need to disable as well. I am guessing it was that and refreshing the ip when I connected back to the router that resolved it. But I still have the issue with connecting/seeing servers. So 1 issue down..

Something smells fishy...

Sounds like the common game browser bug/flaw/whatever H2V has.

I'm not sure but I don't believe the problem you are experiencing has anything to do with your network configuration. I believe the problem has to do with H2V itself. It's some sort of flaw/defect.

What you can do is (this does not always work) play the campaign for 20 minutes or longer then save and quite and open up the multiplayer game browser. You might or might not see the full server list.

Well Im down to 2 options:

1. upnp only shows open when I hook up my router, not available when I connect directly with my cable modem. (funny only Halo2 Vista would be affected of the numerous games I've played on pc, let alone xbox/ps3). - Going to get a new modem.. need a docsys 3.0 anyway to take full advantage of a higher speed service.

2. Going to use and old drive and install Windows Vista.

Ill update with the results.. maybe this will help someone else at some point.
