I'm assuming all Major cities were given the luxury of having an AI to handle the city such as the Superintendent in New Mombasa, how many do you estimate were on Earth? Thousands? It is said that the Superintendent was a "Dumb" AI, were all city AI's dumb?

Or am I just wrong and only New Mombasa had an AI which I find highly unlikely as the other colonies such as Reach and Harvest had multiple handling the planet.

Probably a few thousand. Over ten thousand would be pushing it. Most would likely be "dumb".

I think there were only 1000 smart and...possibly 10000 dumb. Smart AI were probably military use only.

But the Black Stalk of Corn on Cuba wasent in nor next to a city. It was an orbital elevator on it´s own in the middle of the jungle.

I dont think that would count as one.

Yeah, considering it was 200 years old, it probably wasn't used as much as others

I don't understand how anyone is aple to estimate because I haven't found any detail of it, i'm not suggesting it's not there though. pulse i don't see why most citys wouldn't have one.
