Subject: Have you ever wondered what music from Sanghelios would sound like?

I have been called a dino, because I play as a Sangheili.
I have been betrayed, because I play as a Sangheili.
I have been harassed by spartards, because I play as a Sangheili.
But, never were they able to break me and I will forever play halo as a Sangheili.

Don't get me wrong I have great friends that play as a spartan and they are not spartards. For a spartard is only the type of spartan the discriminates based on one's species.

I thought it would sound something like this:

I had posted this in The Gallery but no one is there.

Probably something like this.

Did you listen to my track.

Here is the direct link.

Lol, I'm just kidding. I heard it, and it's pretty cool. Putting it on my MP3 now.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Is 343 hiring? Lol, whose doing the music for Halo 4?

"We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds...'
I suppose we all thought that one way or another."
- J. Robert Oppenheimer

You made that, Iska? That's sick.
Awesome job.

Not sure, but I hope they at least take inspiration from that. From what I've seen of the world, that sounds pretty genuine.

I hope Sangheilios will be shown in Halo 4.

Nice song. I also imagine their music to be based on rhythms and beats.

I hope the next Halo will be about the Elites and the Brutes.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Perhaps this? Funny enough, I've always imagined the alien sounding music to be Covenant/Forerunner, while the rock music being the music that humans at the time listen to.

The odds of another species having a harmonic structure even close to that of our western art music is are slim to none. Even within our own planet there are such varied approaches to what people considering pleasing to the ear. For example, there's an anecdote where a Chinese person goes to see his first symphonic orchestra. They tune up, play some standard Beethoven etc. and when the program was over the Chinese man was asked what his favourite piece was. He replied that he enjoyed them all but particularly the first one. He was referring to the orchestra tuning up.

So taking this dynamic view of music and multiplying it on a galactic scale I would hazard a guess and say that if we heard an alien civilisation's form of music we probably wouldn't even realise it was music, or at the very least would not find it enjoyable to listen to.

I know but I wasn't going to detune my synthesizer. Just think that this track is more of a cinematic piece for a Halo game then their actual musical styling.

READ IT.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

Due to the Sangheili being based on similar cultures to Japanese Samurai and I believe Gallic/Celtic cultures, I would have to say your music is way off.

I think they would have very sharp and harsh sounds, well us they would be sharp and harsh... but to them they could be soothing. Yours would like like crap to them.

Heck... they could just shout at each other for music...

That would be a very good song into a game but I don't think it fits Halo very well but that can just be me. It's really good but maybe you could try making a similar but with more "Halo sounds" to it. What I am saying is that those drums could have more bass as it has always been in Halo. I am not asking you to copy Marty but saying what would sound "Haloish" in my opinion. But that's still really good song.

Sorry for the confusion. my comment wasn't directed at you. Just speaking in general.

Oh, and this was a number one hit on Sanghelios.

Try "ancient Greek with some Japanese thrown in there".

The drums are already bass heavy. Also, what are these Halo sounds that you speak of? Who says that it has to sound like music from previous halo games?

Also, I uploaded an older track of mine called "Desolate Places."

Jesus. That's the best thing I've ever heard.

That track is awsome! I definatly thought drums when I first thought of their music. Them being so militeristic, drums just seem like the natural choice.

Maybe there would also be horns of some kind as well? Like, a deep, resonating kind of horns you hear on a hunt? Idk, I'm no music expert, I just know that the drum track you made is something I'd expect to hear while running around on an Elite planet.

No, no, no. You got me wrong. I knew that it would happen. I am not that good when it comes to talking about music. I just made a suggestion. With drums I meant the metallic sounds. I really like it and didn't want to criticise you. I didn't say that being different than music in Halo would be a bad thing.

You have an unique and beautiful piece of music and I just said that it is different from Halo music. I just would have wanted to hear how it sounded if it didn't have that metallic sound but something bit different filling it's place.

I really hope that cleared the misunderstanding. I just had a quick thought what it would sound like if it was played with Halo style.

Edit: I really like "Desolate Places". That actually gives me a feeling that I was walking in Covenant or possibly even Forerunner corridors.

I imagine music with strong notes and steady beats, since the Elites have such an entrenched sense of honour and duty.
