What if the future turns out to be everything that Bungie imagined? What if, in 2552, humanity faces the threat of extinction from a band of aliens called the Covenant? What if a Spartan soldier, one of the last of his kind, is key to helping defeat the covenant?

All these are valid questions, but think of what it will mean for Bungie! They will rule not only the world, but whatever humanity has colonized by the 2500s! On to Step Seven, Bungie! Our goal is near! MWA HA HA HA HA!

(By the way, for your piece of the galaxy, at least become a part of bungie.net. Wouldn't want to be thrown into the sun, would you?)

It would... guess we just have to watch and smile (or frown) as 2552 approaches...from Heaven or Hell...Assuming that Bungie's still around then, of course. (But there's always hope)

Someone put me in a cyro-tube and don't wake me up until 2552.

Ummm... You might have to wait a couple hundred years. In the meantime, get a computer chip implanted in your brain. (Closest to the Chief you can get today, right?)

I guess we'll have to wait until 2021

I think they already have Cryo freezing or something similar and are going to freeze themselves and then awaken after the Human-Covenant war to seize control XD On to Step 7!

The problem with the future is that it always becomes the present.

We do have cryo freezing now so you could do that... If you have a lot of money...

  • 04.17.2011 6:37 AM PDT

It would be awsome. And if we invent cryo sleep soon, we can be there to see it!

Cryopreservation(the one we have now) only works if the person is dead.

Yeah the problem with cryo is that as the water in your cells freeze it expands and forms sharp crystals and ruptured every cell in your body, including the brain etc, so you can freeze someone but never thaw them out.

If there was a way to freeze someone without forming the ice it might be possible. Which is interesting because Didact was said to be intentionally dehydrated inside his keep to the point where he looked like a sphinx cat.

Also i think there is a frog species that intentionally gets frozen solid for the entire winter then thaws out and carries on without all the cell rupturing.....so i spose it might be possible.

There was also a girl in North Dakota about 10 years ago that fell and hurt herself, unable to move in the middle of a deep winter. She was frozen solid, and her friend had to pry her off of the ground and stick her in the back of her truck like a piece of plywood and drive her to the hospital.

source

It was described as a miracle, but I don't believe in miracles. There's reasons for everything. Maybe she hit the single odd of surviving, who knows. But methods can be recreated, I believe cryo-freeze is completely possible.

Interesting. Actually i too beleive cryo is possible one day, after all there is that frog....and edge cases like the girl.

Not if you are immortal. Muhuhahahaha.

Anyway.....

I see parts of Halo becoming reality, as this is for many sci-fi games etc. What people don't actually realize that a lot of the stuff they make up, is remotely true and possible, in theory of course.

Take slipspace for example. Its a wild concept and its hard to think that anything like that could happen or be remotely true. But many theories have been done for faster than light travel, and as it turns out, a theory similar to the inner workings of slipspace seems the most likely candidate.

Can't be bothered to do a full write up, i've done it so many times before. Look it up if you are interested.

EDIT:
Oh yes! Almost forgot to mention. In the near future it has been predicted that we will have our own, jet packs, light-sabres and hover-boards. This near future being about 50 years for the earliest one!
