Halo started with a controller but used sticky aim assist to help you aim. How does the controller feel "natural" with no aim assist? Just circle around a stationary target with that thumb controlled mini joystick while shooting it accurately in Halo PC and tell me if it's natural.

There was no auto-aim, if that's what you mean. And it's not that the PC controls are too slow for me. On the contrary, they're too sensitive! At only setting 3 I'm over shooting targets and taking too long to aim my weapons. I also find my mouse's range of motion far too limited by other stuff on my desk, a joystick and keyboard to be exact.

You need to just get used to the mouse. If your over-shooting your targets....sounds like you have very little time on keyboard and mouse. I have always been a fan of the console/controller, crap I've been playin since the first Atari's and commodore's came out. On up through PS2 and the X-Box. Then I thought of trying a few games on the pc. Being so much cheaper, I forced myself to get used to using pc control's. (to cheap to buy a controller.) It took some time, but, once I became familiar with them, I would never go back. If stuff on your desk is getting in the way, then, clean up your desk. I started out with low sensitivity on a ball mouse. Got pretty good at it. Then came the optical mouse. I turned up the sensitivity on that, got used to it, then got much better. Now I use a gaming mouse, which I can change dpi during game. Huge improvement.

I played my buddies 360 the other day, blah! Couldnt hit jack -blam!-. Then was informed of the auto-aim. And at that point I realized the need for auto-aim on some console games.

i agree with the ppl tht said xbox auto aim halo games is no fun....and i have a quik made up story about this example...

a halo2 newcomer named New001, came onto a PRO halo2 server for xbox live, but he suked REAL bad. but thnx to his auto aim feature for halo2, he landed in like 3rd place by teh end of the game with 78 kills, BY LUK AND AUTO AIM!!! i mean, soon hes gona brag like crazy to his frend tht a newcomer like him did 78 kills in PRO server in xbox live, if they did not have auto aim, he wouldve been PWNED BADLY by like -8 points. so those PRO's in halo2, and halo ce joystik palyers, think tehyre like the best of teh best, but realy, its thnks to their dum auto aim.

now do u see why auto aim adn joystik control can be no fun? and it can make a N...(cant say this word...) out of yoo. but its realy up to teh ppl who palys joystik adn uses auto aim, but i say ppl who think theyre so good in halo, but uses auto aim, are pure 101% N...(cant say this word...).

Some times playing Halo on the P.C just dosen't feel right.

Here way to do it!

1. Buy the Controller.

2. Plug it in the U.S.B port.

3. Download the software here.

4. Install it.

5. Check it is working by checking the game controllers in the Windows Controller Panel.

6. Now install Halo.

7. Once installed go in the game and activate the controller.

8. Now set the controlls to the same as the xbox version, but only White, Left button, Black, Right Button.

9. KICK ASS ON HALO!!!

(Note: I'd change the thumbstick sentivity to 1 or 2. Oh, the controller will not rumble and the game guide has no function. I am not sure about wireless pads.)

This one is a mouse combo user... and is preferred over the game pad.

As long as your mouse isn't a ball mouse (Hate those), you will be much better off with a mouse/keyboard.

Instead of fiddling with aiming, you just point and click. You can set up your keyboard layout however you want, which makes it "customizable".

...and customizable things rock.

Hmm, you can use the controll and the keyboard and mouse at the same time.
