If the blowing up of the banshee dosnt justify the medal, then im not 100% sure the fall would either. Its a tough one to wrap around my head, but maybe theres got to be something more specific...

skyjacking isn't impossible, you gotta put your falcon above the banshee while strafing in the direction the banshee is moving

hopefully your allies wont kill him either

Its interesting, and about time someone colaborated all this information into one thread

and that has been the best understanding of the mystery helmet i've seen so far

Maybe the secret of the bobs has something relevent to their contexts, the "Born-on-boards", Sanghelli who have spent their lives from birth living and working on covenant ships. We havn't heard anything about this in any other aspects of the Haloverse, are they regarded highly? are they low class warriors for having no homeworld?

Would such a context exist with the sanghelli being composed of male crew?

As they're Rangers, scouting out on their own, its possible that if they are born-on-board they won't have a clanline (whatever the special name is)

It sortof makes sense. They have no family line, so they fight on their own.

Exodus won't work you can't jump out of the gunner seat.

Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?

~Maurice Freehill

Thread saved.

I hope you guys find out the secret. The theory sounds awesome.

Well, on the final mission on Legendary, it's very hectic, and I killed BOB on an Easy run back when I first got the game on this mission, and he spawned in with a sword at exactly 10:00. So tonight I'm going to give it another go on Legendary.

Good luck.
You've inspired me to go back and look for non-Banshee BOBs in Exodus and NA. I believe BOBs are the key to this also.

Exodus BOB spawns inbetween switches you need to turn off, when you're on the bridge.

AAAAALLLLL the way at the end.

So is there two for every level?

Very fair look at it, little or no family, therefore, they have no honour? no one to fight for or do justice for?

Its an interesting thought, family is Everything in sanghelli culture, yet how does one survive if they dont have any? o.O

UWG

Just to say, going along with everything you've said, you've stated that the BOB's are used in the same Respect Skulls were in Halo 3, so, for the two BOB's that are in Banshees that don't reward you with a Medal, the White Skulls in Halo 3 did not reward you with Achievements where the Gold ones did...

Not saying this is solid, but just something to think about...

Good read. My guess is that there are more than one on NA and Exodus. Hope the search works out. Good luck.

  • 04.17.2011 3:39 PM PDT

Thanks for the kind replies guys!

Hopefully my team inspires more people to go back out and search for BOBS on Exodus and New Alexandria, because these two levels have flying BOBS that don't reward the medal. Something is off about this...

Oh and Exodus only has the flying "BOB" that acts like the one for the daily challenge in New Alexandria flying fast and low.

If you have proof of finding a "running" BOB on either mission post ASAP with pictures!

The best form of defence is offence.
Lets get offensive.

Objective: One BOB Medal per mission

Winter Contingency: [Yes]
ONI: [Yes]
Nightfall: [Yes]
Tip of the Spear: [Yes]
Long Night of Solace: [Yes]
Exodus: [No]
New Alexandria: [No]
The Package: [Yes]
The Pillar of Autumn: [Yes]
Lone Wolf: [Yes]

The New alexandria and Exodus BOBs medals are unachievable thanks to a fault with bungies coding, despite there being bobs on both missions, + Proved your corridor on Exodus theory wrong...

On a related note: Almost all BOBs are golden, but ONI BOB is white.

Nope, somtimes a Golden BOB spawns in the parking lot before you engage the Hunters.

Probobly irrelevent, but i made the point on a thread a while ago, ya know how we can have an elite model glitch to reveal its base, no helmet or perms whatsover? has anybody seen a BOB's one? is there any difference? o.O

  • 04.17.2011 3:55 PM PDT

This unit may wreck, or explode at any moment.

Well, if you were trying to prevent hackers from finding the secret easily---maybe you would have the xbox report when a certain goal was reached. Then bungie could award said helmet.

  • 04.17.2011 4:12 PM PDT

If this theory carries any weight, (Im skeptic, see last post) would there be worth mentioning the terminal achievement from H3?

You where supposed to go through the campaign of Halo 3 and activate a series of terminals containing AI journals.

...Much akin to the data-pads found in Halo: Reach, the first of which is dropped by an invisible elite at the very beginning of the first level.

The H3 achievement, which by the way came with a helmet, was called "marathon man" And for that matter the helmet was also a creative descendant of one from Marathon: Durandal.

It is found in Halo: reach too. See Security.
