For instance split up into several parts with a script to reassemble it, which is by no means impossible, I could probably write a program to do that with a file.
As much as i would agree with it, from an amateur programmer's point of view, it's not a space consuming wise choice.
When programming something, usually you would try to take as less space as possible and keep your code as simple as possible.
Not saying this is how Bungie made their game, but i just don't see it as a viable choice. The space used to hide this, could of been used for something more essential to the game.
Just my opinion tho.
I realize that it isn't what you would normally do no, unless you were specifically trying to hide something, which seems unlikely, but it is by no means impossible.
Not saying its impossible either.... just, space consuming.
PS: can somebody please tell me where people are getting the idea that Reach has a vidmaster challenge for the BOBs lol.
It is extrapolated from the idea that they must be called BoBs for a reason, they are unlikely to be Born on Boards in a literal sense, as they are clearly not canonical (disappearing into thin air, avoiding combat, no mention anywhere else etc.)
So why are they called BoBs?
They don't even resemble or serve the same purpose as the ones in the orginal Marathon (To help you out, be saved and in my case atleast, get the bloody way all the time).
This, coupled with the B.net description reading "Wipe them out..." leads people to believe they must be called BoBs to reference the Vidmaster challenge.
It should be noted however, that the Vidmaster challenge was always worded as "Leave no BoB alive" not "Wipe them out", it was always that to my knowledge, no exceptions.
It does seem a reasonable idea, but I'm warming to the idea that perhaps it's a community challenge like the 117 million, or whatever it was, challenges to remove the rank cap. Because "Wipe them out" implies huge numbers to me, and there aren't huge numbers. We know they've done it in the past and they are more likely to have the equipment to do it (Tracking total medal acquisition sounds easier than checking someone's BoB kills across 10 or so levels).
Another point I thought of making recently is this, Bungie's largest challenges have always been signposted like crazy. When we didn't find the pelican egg, they pointed it out. How to unlock Recon was not a secret hear say discovery, it was a major publicized event.
