i read the last few posts, does anyone know what Halseys badge id number is that might be a possible sequence however i like the idea of how you have to kill BOB's with only grenades while on legendary.

Here ya go:

On the Front of the I.D. Card: CIN 10141-026SRB4695

On the Back of the I.D Card: X16-69870-01

Anything else from Halseys journal that ya need?

Subject: The "BOB" Helmet Theories (Bungie, give us a hint please!)

Posted by: I will frag you
Before proceeding any firther, you must take the oath of the vidmaster:

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except total carnage, to never use Caps Lock as my 'run' key, and to never, ever, leave a single bob alive."

translates to me as:

there's a switch on lone wolf you need sprint to reach, (total carnage, running, switches) if you press it, and kill the BOB without firing any shots, (never shoot, not leaving a "single" BOB alive) something awesome will happen.

The caps lock thing relates to an exploit people used on Marathon to make the game easier, run =/= sprint.

Total Carnage = Legendary, not Lone Wolf.

Also I refuse to believe anybody could kill the Lone Wolf BoB only punching and grenading

I should point out, marathon's grenades come from an underslung grenade launcher on the assault rifle, not from throwing them.

I dunno if you guys have seen this or not, i certainly havent read the other 1900 comments, but there is BOBshee in exodus after rally point bravo. and im not talking about the one at the very beginning of rally point bravo, he appears after you clear out all the enemies on normal in the beach head area. i dont have a video of it but it is really easy to do. I plasma pistoled the banshee and it fell to the ground but it is impossible to hijack. i can go into detail if you guys would like but if you already discovered this then no worries.

Kira, I have a strong feeling you are right and that there is no secret BoB/Marathon helmet and what not, but please just let the OP and those with him go ahead and do their BoB hunting. Sure his theories may lack proof and evidence, but I think they're really just ideas that we can work with as part of this BoB hunting. We are aware that killing the BoBs, hitting all the switches etc. probably won't unlock anything cool, but let's just seek and destroy these BoBs and see where it gets us anyway! :)

I,ve said numerous times that i ahve nothing against the BoB hunt.
At the same time i'm also saying don't expect to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The whole "Bob" and "datapad" idea does have a little bit of grounding to it if you ask me. Consider that it is the first enemy you encounter on legendary, and he is actually carrying a datapad, also the fact that you get the medal for them. It would seem that they may have given three clues right there. Bob's can be hidden (cloak), seek them out, and a datapad connection.

I think there must be something obvious that people are missing though. I can't believe Bungie would make it too difficult to figure out.

There is a pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow, and we will find it. There is WAY too much proof these BOBs were implemented for something just to say there is nothing.

i have come to the same conclusion but the only thing that stood out was that data pad 10 wasn't listed with a "0" in any part of the transcript
yes it was, in the first sentence "i've been trying to f1nd a back d0or into the spook house forever and ever and then I did but what did I find and why is this what I found?" The word "find" has the number 1 and "door" has the 0.... Wait a second. Wh1, 2, tim3, 4, stasi5, 6ecause, tru7h, 8ut, 9oing, f1nd, do0r, a11, somet1me2, themse1v3s, th1nk, 4, tr1ed, an5wer, ta1k, num6ers, symbo1s, pa7h, a1ways, 8een, go1n9.
These numbers might be more than to just tell us the order.
dude, they only tell the number of the pas you found. reread through your post. you should see that the numbers go from 1 to 19, the total number of Data pads.

EDIT// sorry but it didnt qoute right

Hey do you want an awesome Halo Reach map?

Its your lucky day I have a BTB map just for you whenever you want it, just click this link. and you will be taken to my file share where you can download my map to your Xbox. :)

This post is for anyone who might think that the data pads have a "pointer" or some kind of clue as to what we must do to get all of the BOB medals. however it does slightly contradict the theory i presented earlier on pg. 43.

the above words from the data pads have been re-arranged by me into a somewhat coherent sentence. here is my translation if it were completely readable.

Why talk? Time has always been going on a stable path, but think; to find the door, going for all the numbers is sometimes the answer for symbols already tried.

Your thoughts on this.....as i have not the slightest idea.

I'm still waiting on this "proof" that you have. 51 pages and nothing even tho there is a huge amount of folks working on your belief.

Kira, what you fail to understand is that the Secret of Sandtrap, the Armory Man Easter Egg, and all the other crazy myths were just made up from nothing.

The BOBs theories are different. Let me explain to you ONE last time why this isn't a crazy myth like the others, and why it differs totally.

Bungie created Marathon and Halo. Halo ALWAYS has Marathon references. In Marathon there are BOBs. In the first Marathon the BOBs were harmless and in the second they even tried to follow along and fight with you. The BOBs from Marathon have a unique eyepiece that stands out BIG TIME. Now, here we are in Reach. There are special Elites in the campaign with UNIQUE spawns depending on time, player actions, and difficulty. These Elites are called BOBs. When you kill them they are put in their own category AND they receive their own medal. The medals description is to "Wipe them out" and the name of the medal is Seek and Destroy. The HTML encoding is named "Ranger Danger." Now, two months ago we found a new helmet. It came from IGN.com. Armor DLC is impossible. Reviewers from IGN played with someone with the helmet. The helmet, in order to be used on any map, must be encoded within that map. Then, the reviewers and 343 actually went into a custom game, and took a pose promotional screenshot of the helmet with two default Spartans. No, IGN did not stop mid game while playing with others to pose off the new helmet. This helmet looks EXACTLY like the BOB monocole piece that the BOBs have on their face from Marathon. THis picture was also featured on the Xbox.com Dashboard. Advertising Armor DLC, no, trying to steer us into the direction of finding this helmet, yes. Then, recently, Bungie had a helmet All-Stars week. Within the pictures submitted Bungie HAND PICKED the Mystery Helmet pictures. Someone drew a VERY nice picture of the BOB helmet on a paper bag and Urk replied: "Hey, BOB." Yeah, he just randomly called our new helmet BOB, oh and, you know, there are BOBS in the campaign and there are BOBs from Marathon and the helmet looks like BOB from Marathon. All coincidences. Then, when showed the IGN screenshot, Urk said "O --" like they were found out. Source of this information.

So for you to sit here and compare the BOBs to the Secret of Sandtrap or the Armory Man Easter Egg, you're a -blam!- idiot. Sorry to say, because I am basing the theories off of information around me. I'm a college graduate, I don't waste my time, and this has something going on with it and I recognize it. I don't see how you can't even start to think that something is suspicious.

Also, for the people saying I have no proof, -blam!- off. I'm not here to prove anything, I am here to disprove theories and get people on the right track when it comes to the BOBs. Got a problem? PM me on XBL- Game v3. We will talk in party chat.

I'm down repeating myself over the same -blam!-, saying I have no proof, take your lazy ass and read the OP. Theres your proof.

51 pages of broken theories, which is what my goal is. This way, people in the future don't have to try things all ready done with the BOBs. Read the OP and stop trolling.

Yo game love what your doing over here and im voting for you for pres .... Just one minor nit pick the " O--" is actually refereing to the design of the helmet how the one side has tje monicle and the other side resemvles the straight line or strap where the left eye would be ... Still a refrence to the helmet regardless

 • 05.02.2011 9:09 AM PDT

Hey OP, just ignore people who are trying to invalidate your project of finding the mystery behind the BOBs.

Arguing with them will simply lead to a flamewar and then a ban.

I find this theory to be one of the most plausible I have ever seen on these forums. Keep it up. I'll try to help as soon as I have more free time.

Opening quote: use paragraphs.

And you fail to understand your theory is but speculation.

You think by killing BoBs you unlock the helmet.
You think its on the Disk, a helmet that to this day, the only found place for it is in the pictures.
Pictures that by the way, could of been given the IGN but 343i themselves.
Just have to point out, there was mention that Bungie used at some point the Blue flame effects on some pictures. Did this mean we got armor DLC? No.
The defiant pic used the bob helmet but nowhere did it say it contained armor DLC, fact, Bungie even clearly stated "No armor DLC with defiant", due to people assuming there was.
You also think using references to a 15 year old game "the last marathon released in 1996", to try to unlock something in Reach.
You think using a vidmaster found in that game will somehow unlock the helmet in Reach, a vidmaster that has no trace in Reach.

HTML can easily be explained, there are 2 type of rangers, the regulars and the BoB.
When you code in HTML, you want to have clean and precise tags.
RANGER for regular
RANGER_DANGER for the BoBs since quite frankly, they are the dangerous ones between the both.
There, i found a logical and explainable reason for the "RANGER_DANGER"

As for the WU comments, on the internet, it is frankly quite easy to interpret something you read the make it sound what you want it to be. With no intonation, expression, you can assume something it isn't.
The "o-" can be said as in yours "o snap", can be said "o what's this?" "o ?". See what im doing here? I'm giving it an interrogation style.
Might not even be how he said it.
Also had to point out that the all-star changes subject every week and was bound at some point to land on the helmet category.

And yes, Bungie did call it the "BoB" helmet.
Maybe they called it that themselves or maybe the community have been calling it the "BoB helmet" for such a while that they decided to stick with it to avoid confusing and making yet an other "new armor rumor".

You're trying to find a "conspiracy" with the BoBs and the helmet that you seem to ignore the simple answer, they are a reference to Marathon.
A reference that wouldn't be the first one to appear for marathon.
Marathon references that you can find in any Halo game and reach is no different.

No where in any previous Halo games did Bungie ever make something so complex.
You could say "but this is their last game".
Shure it is, wasn,t the tribute room enought of an easter egg?
Why even bother using a 15+ year old game to make something?

And here, you're going to call me a troll yet again for disbelieving your theories.
You can't expect everybody to suck and and kiss your ass about it.
You'll always get people for and againts you.
I'm one of those that don't believe you.

TL:DL : To all of your "theories" there is a simple and logical explanation to it.
