what about the whole grenade/beat down idea for the banshee bobs. i know the bobshee that spawns on the island part in exodus where you have to turn on the missile defenses can be plasma pistoled, but what if you got the medal for killing it with a grenade or beating it down to explode

Has anyone tried purchasing the game Marathon from the arcade? Perhaps you do 100% completion and it correlates with Reach?

Perhaps we have to use Halo Waypoint with all acheivements completed. Halo 123, odst , reach and wars.

Has anyone noted the random banshees that appear in winter contingency, when cat is closing the door rush outside, after everything is dead 2 banshees apear, but you cannot bored them, only destroy them?

Yeah, I've seen them. There are also non-flyable Banshees at the end of Oni Swordbase mission. There's nothing special about em'. Bungie just didn't want you flying those particular ones.

On Topic: I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but someone discovered something else cool about the BOB helmets. Seems to be some weird symbols scrolling across the face of the helmets. Idk, but here's the video.

Turning towards the Data Pads, something struck me as strange. Every data pad has one or two numbers replaced by letters, the numbers correspond to the order in the which data pads play out 1-19. On the 19th on, Lone Wolf Legendary, there are two additional replacements, that being this part....

"maybe if i could get somewhere far away from them i could sit down and think about this if i could just get a decent nights sleep to clear my head and put a][ these ducks in a row"

Now the significance of the numbers is clear and that is to put the pads in order, but why the ][
If we were to look at the letters replaced in all pads with everything, it would be this....

granted they won't line up correctly, but you get the idea.

This could work similarly to the IWHBYD skull in Halo 3. The numbers may correspond to some sort of chain of events that you have to trigger in order for something else to happen. Does anyone know of something that has as many possibilities as the numbers suggest?

well if you use the math term 19! you get 596,299,511,808,000 possibilities out of those codes so if someone has the time to do that many different game runs in the next week to find out this mystery if thats even the actual way than go ahead its you living hell....

Hah! This is fun. Reminds me of the excitement of TUE back in the Halo 2 days. Pioneering that was a lot of fun, same with LASO. I love community-orientated projects like this.

I'd love to help out with theories and ideas with the BOBs. My Xbox RRoD's a few weeks ago, so I can't help directly.

What I will say is that I think that this sort of thing would require a straight run through on Solo Legendary, killing one BOB per level, which would be tough seeing as there are spawning issues, but I definitely think that it needs to be a straight run-through to do it. I don't think that the hidden switches have anything to do with it, but if you want to hit them all, I'd say it couldn't hurt to try.

This is actually much better than my old TUE ("The Ultimate Egg") idea from Halo 2, because there's an obvious goal here, which I think is supremely plausible.

My other thoughts are thus:

The mappacks came with updates of sort, didn't they? They added achievements anyway, so I don't see why they couldn't have perhaps fixed some spawning issues with the BOBs. I haven't actually downloaded any of the maps yet (money is tight, yo), so I couldn't tell if there's a difference, and I also can't confirm if anyone else can say if there's a definite link between the Defiant map pack and the BOBs, but what Frankie said in that interview interests me.

"Not built into the...well, people should play it, put it that way". Seems to hint to me that perhaps the helmet is accessible if you have the map pack. But since it's not "built into" it, perhaps it does involve the BOBs.

Random ramblings, I'm sorry. Just thinking aloud here.

I'm not keen on the fake BOBs, but what I do think is that their armour is randomized; it doesn't matter what it's actually wearing, but the point is to kill it. It's interesting that their armour changes and is white, but I don't think it's necessarily something that matters.

So yeah, direct playthrough of the game on Legendary (perhaps not LASO, because god-dayum that would be hard).

Man, I wish I could actually try this myself. Stupid red ring of death.

Good luck to anyone attempting it. I look forward to hearing about this more. I'll try asking around people who may be in the know, see if I can rangle some insight into it.

I would like to think about this some more. I found it interesting that all was replaced with a][ also. Why would that be? I also find it interesting that the replacement comes in the phrase "put all these ducks in a row". Seems to me to suggest doing something in order. Now that could just be a hint at how to read all the data pads in order, but who knows. I have collected every data pad in order and that did nothing. Has anyone killed a BOB on every level in order? I don't remember. Or maybe every level on heroic in order and then every level on Legendary in order, like the data pads? Just throwing more ideas out there.

I think we are missing a BOB, somewhere, some level, we are missing one. My guess would be exodus, the POA, or Lone Wolf.

I've done all the LASO missions and nothing. so unless there is a LASO on Lone wolf. No helmet for this theory.

my friend was going through looking through the data pads and believes there is a code of letters. When you add vowels to the gaps it spells out assinate all bobs. Not sure if this is right but has anyone tried it. Im just tossing around ideas

Anybody realized that on Vidmaster: Oath picture it says "Start at level 7 of 88. The seventh mission is Exodus, this confuses me because the BOB on that mission requires bullets to kill it as you are inside the falcon.
