I spent an hour, on multiple difficulties, searching the beginning of Exodus where the guy on the previous page claims he saw BOB running toward the room with the suicide Grunts, and I found nothing in that spot. Not saying hes lying, you might have to do something specific for the BOB to spawn.

I also did a sweep of New Alexandria, and while I did find some interesting things, I came up with no BOBS.

Today I am playing Exodus and New Alexandria once again, wish me luck. KEEP HUNTING GUYS!

Hackers found the IWHBYD skull two years after the release of Halo 3. That's not very fast.

  • 04.19.2011 11:01 AM PDT

Two years doesn't sound right, at all. :\

This article was posted on September, 29th, 2007, it's instructions on how to find the IWHBYD skull. Halo: 3 was released on September 25th, 2007. Four days is not two years.

If you do find the BOB Banshee in New Alexandria, try boarding it instead of shooting it down.... Also I think it might help to review your films in theater mode and see if they're spawning at a certain time.

Just a guy...who likes doin' stuff

*thread saved* this is interesting

To Darkman-

Halo: 3 was released on September 25th, 2007. The article I posted was on September 29th, 2007. The skull was found in four days. Is that not fast?

DEFINITIVE PROOF BOBS IN BANSHEES CANNOT BE SKYJACKED

As Gyohdon pointed out, there is more than one spawn for the Exodus BOB in a banshee (BOBshee). I found the earlier one he referred to, stunned it with a plasma pistol and got right next to it to try and skyjack it but I could not as it was still boosting despite being stunned. I also blew it up with stickies, rockets, my fists, and a plasma pistol in other attempts.

Video of me standing right next to a downed BOBshee with no option to hijack:

Good video.

There is no way to hijack the BOB Banshees, I've tried. The BOB Banshee has two spawns on Exodus. The Falcon part of the level, and later in the level where the Wraiths are, it will fly overhead boosting non-stop.

The thing is, I think these "BOBS" are diversions, and aren't the correct BOBS to kill. We need to find us walking BOBS that yield the medal for killing them.

Don't be silly. You're not wrong because nobody is agreeing with you, you're wrong because your points are weak and poorly supported. The fact that people disagree with you is a symptom of being wrong, not the cause or the proof of it. Canary in the coal mine, so to speak.

Honestly I'm not really sure why these weird Banshees are considered BOBs at all. :0 They don't get you the medal, they're not Elites, and apparently you can't even jack them. Seriously, we need to rule out the Banshees here, they're not gonna get us anywhere.

Its interesting, and about time someone colaborated all this information into one thread

and that has been the best understanding of the mystery helmet i've seen so far

Maybe the secret of the bobs has something relevent to their contexts, the "Born-on-boards", Sanghelli who have spent their lives from birth living and working on covenant ships. We havn't heard anything about this in any other aspects of the Haloverse, are they regarded highly? are they low class warriors for having no homeworld?

Would such a context exist with the sanghelli being composed of male crew?

In the Halo legends film the package, there is a Female Elite.

Said Elite is also wearing an Assault harness, which as most know was not worn by Elites during their alliance with the Covenant. I think it's safe to say that The Package was not entirely canonically correct in several ways.

For Exodus, have you tried pummeling the Wraith drivers? The Elites usually drive those. Maybe there are switches or a way to hijack the banshees so we can get to the section with he wraiths. Maybe if you wait, the Pelican will arrive. Then, you hop on the pelican and drop down to the islands or the rooftops. Or maybe you could EMP one of the Falcons or even the Banshees towards the beginning of the level.

I know a trick for jacking (and driving) Wraiths, and all of the Wraith drivers on Exodus are Brutes. It'd have to be somewhere else.

For skeptics:
Skip to 4:00 in this video.

It looks closer to like 4:15, but he's definitely squirming after that question, no doubt. :O

Angel wasn't saying we had to put effort into it, she said that killing you go's against everything she believes in, because it takes actual work and effort.

One BOB medal per campaign mission rewards us like the Halo: 3 skulls did, with armor pieces. The "BOB Mystery Helmet" and the new chest piece are rewarded when 9 out of 10 and 10 out of 10 BOB medals are rewarded.

What what what?

  • 04.19.2011 11:28 AM PDT

Thanks KTAN, saved me some embarrassment. :P

Found this while messing around, Bungie calls the BOB medal "Ranger Danger" in the HTML, this might mean nothing, but I thought it was interesting.

Sorry for the double post, I'm going searching right now. If anyone ever wants to join me add Game v3 on XBL. If I don't respond to messages or anything right away, sorry.

I searched the whole level. on Legendary. All Skulls On. He is not within any available soft kill zone.

Also, as i mentioned in a previous post, he is not near the suicide grunt area during the courtyard sequence.

I scrutinized the video in theatre and it doesnt seem like he appears at previous areas when player proceeds in level.

I found; two data-pads; the group of hidden brutes; random pelican; downed, unbroken but still un-useable banshee; and a whole lot of random crap and dead people but no bob.

maybe theres just more bobs in other levels?

I have searched Exodus a lot, and haven't come up with a BOB either. I'm not giving up though, for some reason I think he is still on the level. It's just odd how there are multiple walking BOBs on all levels but Exodus and New Alexandria, and then after these two levels BOBS are on the ground again.

I dont find it odd that they are difficult to find on these levels. (If they are even there).

All the ledges and unapproachable or hidden areas make it worse than any other map.

needless to say, there might also be some kind of sequence you need to initiate before finding them. Especially if you think of them as skulls, whereas some are easy to find, and some require a whole lot of work (IWHBYD).

maybe you need to push buttons and kill bobs in other levels for him to appear?
