just when i thought my searching and slaying of these bobs was getting a little stale i found something ive never seen before...
a silver(or white) elite ranger dual weilding plasma rifles.
i found him on the normal bob spawn on ONI(heroic). i engaged him thinking he was just a spec ops elite bob or a minor bob, only to realize he was a non jet packing white ranger -without- a precision weapon.
i disposed of him with a few sniper rounds and was shocked that ive never heard of a white ranger bob anywhere in my readings. i checked my bungie.net carnage report and there was the gold ranger elite meadl confirming the kill.
its too bad im retarded and somehow managed to go try to save it only to have not actualy saved anything.
so i spent the next 2 hours trying to lure out this rare breed of bob in search of proof.
im curious as to why these white ONI BOBs appear as covenant commanders in the form of ALL elite classes on this map and while share the same BOB characteristics, they do not vanish at all. and is this the only map where they are disguied as NOT BOBs?
could these be part of an elaborate game bungie wants us to play involving the gold, the white and the bobshees(lol)? hidden within scripted points of the game only to vanish moments later and giving nothing more then credits for daily challenges, and a bungie.net medal. which tells you to "seek and destroy" & "wipe em out".
a good theroy ive heard is about the gold and silver skull connection to the bobs.
each map has a bob. some are silver(white), some are gold and then theres the bobshees. the package has a confirmed bobshee as well as a gold bob at rally point bravo as well as two other spwans on that map. ive read someone documented 7 gold bob spawn points on winter contingency which i s weird cuz there is only a few on every other map(or is there?).
usualy theres only one bob spawn per playthrough. so this is interesting.
consider how halo3 had a gold skull on each mission. plus silver skulls on select missions and the second blind skull on cortana.
i dont know if youre logic works like mine but im seeing a pattern in all this. bungie doesnt put hoops in their game for people to jump through. nothing is coincidence.
what is their true purpose why has bungie installed these BOBs into the campaign? is it to keep the community running around in circles till halo 4 comes out? very doubtfull. ive heard ppl say that bungie intended the IWHBYD skull to take years to find, something that would have been a great community hunt. insted it was ruined by ppl who would rather not have to do any work finding it at all.
and here we are one year after reach came out and were still balls deep looking for the answer to this golden riddle, and some people actualy think that this is a wild goose chase and has no meaning and that there is no reward waiting for the hours of time the community has spent chasing this dragon so to speak(yer never gonna catch it). there is too much mystery behind this whole thing to write it off as a cool easter egg or a tough elusive oppenent.
maybe BOBs true purpose will be revealed in the coming months.
or maybe we will need to keep digging as a community if we ever want to know why so many bobs must die.
