As long as Bungie says it did. i.e Reach's campaign.

Basically, this.

We've known for a long time that in-game canon automatically overrides book canon (despite how much we wish it weren't so). In this case, the Reach campaign time of about a month wins.

I'm not saying which is the right canon, is just there are some BIG holes in the story, I understand that sometimes you have to break certain canon to add new ones, but Halo: Reach some HUGE holes that are really hard to find a logic way to explain.

Believe me I loved the Halo: Reach campaing, and I've read hundreds of times the fall of reach and Dr. Halseys diary, and still there are really huge holes in the canon.

What are those holes?

The most famous of all, The Pillar of Autumn, not possible to be inside the planet because of it's design, not to mention that it was already a pretty old ship.

In the Fall of Reach, Cpt. Keyes never was able to return to Reach to evac Red team because Reach was already overrun, but now turns out, he risk it all and went in for a small piece of Cortana? and not Red Team?

The MJOLNIR/power ranger deformations. I understand is a game, but is a game based on the military, They've could made some changes like in Halo 3: ODST, they gave them their own style and still you knew they were ODST, in Reach Noble team looks like a bunch of battle armored power rangers, in the military?

Jorge familiarity with Dr. Halsey, if you read ALL the books, you will see that the Spartans see Dr. Halsey as a mother role, but they feel uncomfortable expressing this feelings. As much as I liked Jorge, he didn't behave like a Spartan II, not even Kurt is that...familiar.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The most famous of all, The Pillar of Autumn, not possible to be inside the planet because of it's design, not to mention that it was already a pretty old ship.

Where does it state it can't be in the planet? I know it isn't "rated for atmosphere", but we haven't gotten a concrete defintion of what "rated for atmosphere" means. The Autumn did have a landing procedure, Cortana said so in Halo: CE. ALso, Halcyon-class ships were seen at the Aszod shipbreaking yards showing they could go on a planet, at least to be broken down.

In the Fall of Reach, Cpt. Keyes never was able to return to reach to Evac Red team because Reach was already overrune, but now turns out, he risk it all and went in for a small piece of Cortana? and not Red Team?

The Cortana fragment was deemed pretty important by ONI and Red Team was in the Viery Terrirtory, not the ship breaking yards at Aszod. Once teh Autumn lifed up there was no going back.

The MJOLNIR/power ranger deformations. I understand is a game, but is a game based on the military, They've could made some changes like in Halo 3: ODST, they gave them their own style and still you knew they were ODST, in Reach Noble team looks like a bunch of battle armored power rangers, in the military?

Isn't that more of an astehtic argument instead of canonical one? Even then, Noble Team was an effective combat unit who came back from mission after mission, the armor only benefited them. But sorry, I guess two shades of blue, green, and black are so Power Ranger.

He called her Ma'am, what the Hell are you babbling about?.

I'm aware he called her Ma'am, I don't know what this has to do with the familiarity he had with Dr. Halsey?

What are you trying to say? He didn't seem overly emotional towards her.

He was extremly submissive, you could see his face like a puppy reunited with his master! He should have behave like the rest of Noble Team, uncomfortable to debrief a civilian. Even Kurt felt annoyed of her when he had to give explanations to her, and Kurt was the most friendly Spartan.

What cutscene were you wtaching? He was calm and answered her questions without much emotion.

I actually quite liked that cutscene... Jorge obviously hadn't seen her in an extremely long time, and you could see him fighting back his emotions.

At least I could.

I mean yeah, he seemed hapy to hear he was going to see Halsey again, but every time Chief met Halsey he had a rush of memories about her too, so I don't see how this is a canon issue.

I have this theory about ship that is "rated for atmosphere" being able to hover (frigates) and/or leave atmosphere on it's own (PoA needed those big rockets to help it).

Friends before pixels.

According to Halo: Reach, a little over a month and a half.

According to the books, 2 and a half weeks.
