Dusk, your card is top of the range and I understand that, there wasn't once that I said that my specs were better than yours. What i don't understand is your ability to read.
You didn't? I seem to recall something like:

No, but seriously, my HD4870 has help up for the past three years just fine, and the Mobility HD5870 in the laptop I'm using right now probably smokes whatever you're using. Your bad experiences could probably be chalked up to user error. Given their awesome price-to-performance ratio against comparable nVidia cards, I ALWAYS recommend higher-end Radeon HD cards to anyone looking for a new video card.

Halo 2 Vista can have serious frame rate problems with any recent graphics card, i know this from experiance as I have a Nvidia Gfrove GTX 260 that can play Crysis on (almost) max settings. But alas, I get lag with H2V.
Seriously, think you can beat my specs?
So, that question wasn't rhetorical? You didn't try to insinuate in your post via underlining that a GTX was somehow better than an HD5870? You were legitimately asking me if my specs were better, instead of trying to look like some elitist to cover for your nVidia fanboyism?
Then I'll answer your question; YES.
As for the rest of your post, I'll just point out that an HD 6870 blows any game under the sun away, and out-performs nVidia's GTX465 by a wide margin despite them both costing $200. An HD 6950 out-performs nVidia's GeForce Ti GTX 560 by a wide margin, despite them both costing $240. It's not until you get above $300 until nVidia starts beating out ATi's cards at a decent price/performance.
Give this a look. Wanna spend over $300 on a card? Have fun with nVidia. Gaming on a budget? ATi's clearly the way to go.
