Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.
My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary
WHY do I enjoy Halo 3 moreso than Reach? It's hard to explain.
Having a non-hit scan weapon selection (BR, Sniper) makes it more difficult, but rewarding when you get good at using something. Bloom doesn't cut it. I shouldn't have to pace my shots, slow down gameplay, only to lose to a player spamming the trigger!
Maps. Something about map layout works in Halo 3, while Reach feels too open, or too concentrated. What I mean, is look at Ghost Town for instance. You can wander, relax for a moment, or just enjoy the scenery, OR go to the middle area of the map and battle. Infact, a lot of the maps in Halo 3 involve you in one way or another. You need to make decisions! Let's play Reach. Sword base. Wow. ALL battles are on the top floor and you're constantly working your way up. It's tedious! Look at Countdown, the map feels like a lock-out, but you're the quarters are a little too technical. Halo Reach does not have a good feel to it.
Player Movement. Halo 3 had great movement, the player speed, gravity, and jump height was the pinnacle of Halo. You had good speed, high jumps, and a good weight. Reach ruined this. Slower movement, lower jump height, and heavier players. I will state this once. If I wanted to play Call of Duty, or Brothers in Arms, or Battlefield, I would do so. Halo, IS NOT one of those games.
Weapon damage. Easiest way to put this. Look at Halo 3 grenades, now look at Reaches. One is fair, one is not. Why is it you would UP grenade damage and LOWER player speed. I could go on about this all day, but I won't.
Player attitude. In general, I am pleased with the Halo 3 community. They don't grief, or bag you when you lose, not nearly as much, as Reach.I cannot stand that loud mouthed kids, or jerk-hole teens. I want to have a good time, not pestered by people who have nothing better to do.
Ranking. I feel much more accomplished when I have a 43, than being ANY rank in reach. In fact, I feel ashamed to be a high rank in Reach as it just shows how much time I've wasted. I don't want to be distracted by shiny armour, I want actual rewarding feelings. You work toward a new rank, and damn it feels good when you get it. Plus, you can judge how well a player is in Halo 3,you can't in Reach.
Campaign. Short and Sweet. REACH is garbage. It is repetitive to no end, and I feel like a puppet. Do this, do that. Here's your objective, and the worst, SPARTAN ASSIST! At least in Halo 3 you feel like you're discovering things for yourself. Go play Marathon, now play Reach. Reach is a baby's first game. It caters to the children.
Music. Halo 3 had emotional pieces, not the best, but they were good. (Halo 2 having the best) but god, listen to reach. ONE emotional piece and that is Noble 6 working his way to New Alexandria. The rest does not fit in to Halo. This is a Halo game, not a new age dance club. You screwed up bungie.
Voice acting. Halo 3, still not as good as Halo 2's but it is HEAVEN compared to Reach. "I repeat, the covenant is on reach' I didn't realize Ben Stein was a voice actor. How monotone can you get? Now, listen to "Someone, anyone, please respond" So much greater.
Sorry for the rant, but it has to be said. Reach is the largest disappointment to date. I am glad 343 has Halo now. Bungie has turned on its fans.
