"Some operations are considered hazardous even for a fully armored Spartan"
Description of HAZOP helmet

Really?

In the Fall Of Reach, Halsey states that the Mk. V helmet uses filters to remove toxins/bacteria. Additionally, the suit is hardened against radiation, and is capable of EVA for 90 min. What environment could be more hazardous?

Think outside the box.

Or inside, possibly.

Perhaps the HAZOP helmet allows a Spartan-II to function in a compromised environment for longer periods of time then they would with standard Mk.5 armour, i.e. larger, heavy-duty filters, corrosive-resistan materials.
