Subject: Noble 6's armor after death (contains First Strike spoilers)

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

i know that one spartan got killed fighting Some Elite in cole protcole and the elite let the grunts play with his helmet as a reward.

Would you mind citing that?
I thought you'd know this one Rtas. Although they did not cite the part about letting the grunts play with his helmet, and the link to the source is now broken. You can only rely on trust, and I do recall reading that bit from the Halo Wars teaser site.

Werid. i could have swore that was mentioned in cole Protocol. thats really odd.
You know, I do get the feeling I've read that elsewhere in the back of my mind. Time to scour the novels! I'll get back to you if I find anything else.

I can vouch for matman, I remember reading that on the Halo Wars website too. It showed the planet Harvest and you could click on different parts of it to listen to various pieces of dialogue and information, like Ripa praising Weapons Master Sanjik for her "excellent upgrades on Banshees".

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

He's referring to this (2:54). I don't think it's a Frigate, it looks too small and may simply be a building. There were no UNSC ships around Aszod other than the Autumn, there can't have been a Frigate there.

This is post-Reach though, that ship looks alot similar to the SoF to me.

Nope, the thing on the hill directly behind the helm (and in very plain sight) visible at the start, not the end (the far distant colony ship landing.

It's a frigate which was part of the ship graveyard. Lone Wolf happens right at the base of the PoA launch building, in the ship graveyard you can easily see throughout the PoA level.

You see it around 2:40? To the right of the helm.

Signatures are for squares.

Everything after Halo Reach takes place (July 24th onward) in Halo media is up for debate. Nothing is really solid anymore. That encounter with Grace probably never even happened.

Why wouldn't it happen?

"Question. Which Spartan is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False. Master Chief."
"Well, that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought."
"Spartans shoot Sangheili. Spartans. Sangheili.....Battle Star Galactica."

I think he's saying that the books canon can be trumped any time by games - i.e. what happened with TFoR and Halo: Reach.

Could totally be wrong, though.

No, he's implying that the events of Halo reach somehow caused Grace not to be blown apart by a brute.

Actually Caboose has said the same thing before, only more elaborated on, what he means is that he thinks Reach pretty much destroyed the whole of canon from books.

And who can blame him for saying so? The canon has been systematically obliterated by Bungie since Reach came out, but that's a different argument for a different thread. Let's stay on topic.

  • 04.20.2011 2:15 PM PDT

I think that Caboose may be right.

correct me if im wrong but i dont think noble 6 has MJOLNIR?

Sadly he does.

Um im pretty sure he doesnt. It certainly doesnt look like MJONLIR either.

Er... what?

MJOLNIR is the name of the armour, the armour has different variants like EVA, EOD etc. The default Noble Six wears MJOLNIR Mark V [B], this is simply another variant of MJOLNIR.

That would only be his helmet though, he wears the regular Mark V armor.

Except the shoulders seen in Halo CE

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Halo CE Mark V.

Notice how the shoulders are the same to the ones in Halo: Reach with just the size and position changing between games.

I don't think it has an Auto destruct (which it should), i know that one spartan got killed fighting Some Elite in cole protcole and the elite let the grunts play with his helmet as a reward.

So no auto detonation.

That wasent Cole Protocole. In fact, it wasent in any of the novels.

I am now told that it was from the halowars site (which i didn't do the viral for) so it had to have been in a book.

nontheless im re-reading cole protocol anyway

I´ve read Cole Protocole around 4 times. I would remember if that we´re in there.

I´m pretty sure the thing about a Grunt playing with a Spartan helmet was part of one of the graphic novels or something, but I defenantly dont remember it being from any of the novels.

If you find the evidence tell me, but I´m pretty sure it´s not in there.

Hmmm, interesting I've always seen the MJOLNIR armor depicted in Reach as less bulky than the MKV and MKVI of Halo 1 and Halo 2/3, although that's just my opinion.

We should compare the armors though.

Chief's Mark IV.

Six's Mark V.

"Oh, here is Mark VI(B), a cheaper and weaker variant of mark six that they, for some reason, made ONLY FOR YOU!"

I actually laughed out loud as I pictured that on my head.
I think that Noble Team (with the possible exception of Jorge) was given Mk. V armor that simliar to Master Chief's but did not include the facilities to house a Smart A.I. They recieved the same shields and strength enhancements but it is obvious that Noble 6 had to carry Cortana (or at least a part of her) in a vessel outside of his armor.

Or, it was carried like that for ease of transferring it to Keyes.

Easier for him to take and keep track of a container then a tiny chip which would have to be pulled out of the helm.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

Before Six dies and dies he does! (LOL) he is fired by several plasma shots not to mention that he is 99.9% stabbed by a plasma knife from a Zealot. I think by this point Six's armor is pretty much useless for the extreme damage. Plus Covenant never cared for Human technology, specially the Elites who where blinded by their fanatic faith.

Probably his armor was almost 99% glassed and attached to his body.

I'm not sure but there's an Elite in "Halo: The flood" that states that the Demons armor is more advance technological than the Covenant itself and one Prophet (offended by the way) said that it was impossible for humans to outmatch Forerunner technology and was heressy speak of such things. I don't remember if that Elite was killed or not.
