That does sound nice. Is "the contract agency" Art Source or Sakson & Taylor, Inc." (the ones one the jobs webpage) or some other agency?

And in the past when/if the agency has assigned "another position", has that other position generally been also within Bungie or with some other company?

Yah, yah, I know. I just thought you might be able to share a little more information up front.

Thanks.

It says must be experienced with halo and halo 2.HINT HINT!
this is kinda off topic but You just mentioned your next project.Halo 3!
Or it could just be a game like the halo games cause it could have the same type of feel and similarity.or it could be HALO 3!

you want him to have good gaming skills? wtf? not to be harsh, but no one working at bungie has even "above average" skills in halo (and thats being nice). this effects the outcome of your games a lot, and you once made a statement that went something along the lines of "just because your good at the game does not mean you get to dictate how the game should be". if you are changing your opinion on that, then i really really respect bungie as a company, but if your not then re evaluate what you want in a new employee. your putting your standards too high. shouldnt being a gamer be enough? anywho, i feel that bungie should never have made the comment about good gamers not getting any more say about how the game should be. to me, that is hurtfull and offensive. look at tomonobu itagaki, you love tecmo dont you?? well guess what he did. thats right, he hired the best DOA players in japan to test the game until it was tweaked to perfection. before i get flamed... no, i am not a huge anti bungie anti ahlo 2 kinda guy. i just feel that bungie could have made halo 2 a lot better than it is. the fact that the never address that topic seriously, which is noticable in HIH's recent interview of frankie, really pisses me off.

P.S. save your breath flaming me. you are probably wrong. if you reeeeeaaly want me to see what you have to say, PM me, even then i wont get it for a while, but w/e

I am thinking about applying. I wonder what Bungie would think of the Halography I wrote. Too bad my revised edtion of that, and my website (UNSCleric.com) doesn't launch until 2/2/06. :(

When's the deadline for submitting?

  • 01.16.2006 8:28 PM PDT

Quit while your behind.

thats bungies mistake, they dont hire anyone under 18 for most jobs which is very irrational and narrow minded. most adults (MOST) know jack s**t about halos story, they just know the mutiplayer which is only half of the game. halo 2 had excellent multiplayer and online, but suffered in campaign. I have sent many e mail messages to bungie in regards to my employment as a mission designer, etc. (due to my love and extensive knowledge of halos intrusive story) and have NOT been replied. I think bungie should start to listen to the people (such as me, for example) who specialize in this area.

Well I sent my application in earlier this morning, wish me luck!

I wonder how long they will be accepting applications until they decide who they are picking?

Good luck to you too. I think it'll only be one person though, cause in the Weekly Update Frankie said,

"It’s going to be a contract position, but the successful candidate will be based here, in Bungie’s custom designed Fun-Bunker."

How awesome would that be? I almost wouldn't want Halo 3 to be spoiled for me, but to be able to work there, alongside the people who made HALO....I can't even imagine how amazing it would be. I'm just glad that whoever does get it will be a hardcore fan who will deserve it. Also, aside from all the excitement about this new position, it seems we're getting very close to the announcement of the next project...

Really? Damn, well i'll have to send a pic of a well endowed female with my application :)

J/k

Personally, I think i would own at this job. IF, i was 3 years older. Hang on, make that 6 after UNI.

Stupid age strikes me down again in my quest for world domination!

Frankie, what if we are graduating around May, I'm a senior in high school and I will be out this May. I realize you guys wont want to hire me while I'm in school, however I was wondering if i could go ahead and apply, or would the time frame be to late? P.S. I am 18

Well, I am thinking about applying for this job. I have quite a resume of writing halo strategy stuff, as posted on Rampancy, and later "hired" by teamxbox to post Sparky's Guides.

I am 22, still in college, but willing to take a break (been planning on it for a while) for a few months, especially to work on something that I love.

And who said that playing video games whould get you nowhere....

It has the word "Halo" in its title. That means an automatic campaign playthrough for me.

Responsibilities:
• Create professional, high quality, consistent content for Bungie.net
• Assist with creation and execution of overall ongoing Bungie.net content plan
• Assist with editing, formatting and web deployment of content created by other people
• Help with asset creation and other community team projects as needed
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requirements
• Must be over 18 years of age (at 16, not yet)
• Excellent writing skills covering a broad range of styles and topics (perhaps, need some examples)
• Must be passionate and experienced with the Bungie Community and our games, especially Halo and Halo 2.
(could never find Maraton or Oni (beat Halo and Myth Series)
• Have an excellent grasp of grammar and the English language (Yes, [read "96% on the Grammatical portion of a final exam])
• Well organized and self-motivated (f*** no to the first one, f*** yes to the second)
• Familiarity with basic HTML formatting (hunh?)
• Sense of humor (can tell humor, can not make it)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plusses
• Experience writing for high volume outlets (no)
• Good gaming skills (see my 24/99 kills in Br team slayer at headlong, 12 of them were with Beam Rifle in the first two minutes of the game)
• Prior experience working on a game related community website (no, unfortunatly)
• Basic knowledge of website content creation and deployment software and systems (yes, BASIC is the key word, though)
• Photoshop or other image editing software experience (Nada)

  • 01.17.2006 2:45 PM PDT

Have you slipped up Frankie? ;)
Requirements
• Excellent writing skills covering a broad range of styles and topics
• Must be passionate and experienced with the Bungie Community and our games, especially Halo and Halo 2.

Why would the applicant need a special interest in Halo AND Halo 2 if the next project, officially, is not necessarily a Halo-related game? Like Halo 3 for example? And don't tell me it's for the website, because I don't really see much about Halo on here anymore, it's all Halo 2.

Edit : Sorry just noticed I had repeated that idea. Still, at least I know I am not the only one thinking this...

Their Next Project is Pimps at Sea.

Haven't you seen all the hints and Pirate related words that are in the writeups?

It's not like Bungie to mislead us, especially with the huge anticipation for this game, and the release of the perfect console for it.

I myself am looking forwards to it.
