People who say the Assault Rifle sucks probably gets killed with it too often...
Yes, the title says it. I have been working on a fan-fiction Halo story and the first chapter is about half-way done.
Info about story:
The Human-Covenant war has ended. Hundred of ships have been sent reclaim lost colonies in an effort to maintain order. The UNSC Exodus along with other UNSC, and Sangheili Ships come back to Reach, only to find something big and unexpected to happen that will change the course of the reconstruction.
Here is a part of it:
Chapter 1: Once More...
UNSC Exodus
UNSC Marathon Battlegroup 34-Delta
Unknown Space, 9:17 A.M. October 12th, 2554
"All systems seem nominal. Captain, shall I warm up the slip space drives?"
"Negative on that Lieutenant, keep the ship on a steady pace."
"Aye, sir."
The UNSC Exodus was one of the best battle-cruisers I've been on in my entire career as a UNSC Spartan. She's seen action since the Insurrection in the 2500's. Now, she has the special mission of repopulating lost planets during the Human-Covenant War. I was in charge of seeing to the ground ops.
"Petty Officer Jacob Holloway please report to the bridge at this time."
Well, so much for sleeping in this morning. I proceeded to the bridge to find Captain Ulysses Walker standing there waiting for me. He was one of the best Captains in the history of the UNSC. He almost beats Admiral Cole.
"You rang?" I asked.
"Yes," the grizzled starship captain replied, "we're about to make the jump to Epsilon Eridani system...."
"Reach?" I asked.
"Yes, our first stop is there." the Captain replied back.
I felt smug. "Reach? Why there first?" I thought to myself. There must have been something big going on in the UNSC Brass.
"Sir, with all due respect, why Reach first? Shouldn't we head to more important planets like Algolis or Harvest?" I asked bluntly.
"Reach was one of our most best military theaters anywhere in UNSC space. We need to reclaim it in order to salvage what we can from the destroyed ships." He replied, "We should be there by 2 hours. You should head back to your cabin and rest. I will call you back when I need you."
"Aye, Aye, Captain." I said.
E-Deck
9:33 A.M.
I paced my room while looking at my MJOLINIR armor, R-Type variant. It was Mark V still because I refused to trade it in for Mark VI. Besides, it's cheaper to use what you've got anyway.
Then the ship started to shake a bit. It was entering slip space towards Reach.
"Why must we still go to Reach? There's probably something serious going on. Sure, we've got a coalition of Humans and Elites on board and on other vessels, but why Reach if there is something serious?" I thought.
I decided to just relax and take a nap. At least that will relieve me.
UNSC Exodus
UNSC Marathon Battlegroup 34-Delta
Epsilon Eridani 11:13 A.M. October 12th, 2554
"Wake up, Officer Holloway. The Captain requests you to join him on the bridge." the V.I. stated.
I got up and shrugged off the crappy feeling. I then walked up to my armor to suit up.
A few minutes later, my armor was set and ready to go. As I put my recon helmet on, I got a strange transmission through the comms. It sounded like an SOS, but only a Spartan could interpret. Then, I realized what it was.
"The Oly, Oly, Oxen Free Message."
I will plan on finishing this novel by this year's Bungie Day in July.
Feel free to ask questions and I will try my best to answer them.
