Ok here goes.

As someone pointed out in the "343 back in Halo 2" thread. If you add 3+4 it equals 7, and if you add 3+4+3 it equals 10. Both numbers symbolize perfection in the Bible. The number 6 symbolizes imperfection. The number 666 (the mark of the beast) symbolizes EXTREME imperfection. The person that pointed out to me that the numbers in 343's name also said "7+7+7=343", I never thought about that though, that would mean EXTREME perfection, and make 343 a god or a Forerunner (which the Covenant worships as gods). Anyways, any way you add it up 343 equals perfection. And we all know that Bungie used alot of biblical references in Halo.

What do you guys think?

Interesting. He definately could be a god. Making it out of Halo after it was destroyed. Plus your not able to kill him... yes I know the story has to continue and you can't procede without him but you can kill Keyes on TaR. Yes I do believe he is supposed to be some god figurine. Bungie would not just make up a random number for such a major role in the story.

I pointed out the 343 thing because Bungie has a facination with the number 7, and to a lesser extent 3 and 10... these numbers are riddled though bungies games... for example marathon http://marathon.bungie.org/story/seven.html

I think that bungie probably used the name as some sort of symbol, but not to say that GS is a god. He just represents a powerful being, such as a god, but is not physically a god. Just my 2¢.

You're probably right.
