Reach ftw

I know this game is fairly old now but I just purchased it for my computer to have a run through the campaign and get some cheevos from it.

Anyway, I bought the game (new/sealed) for my Windows 7 comp. From what I know from reading other posts here and on the GFWL forums, H2 CAN work with W7. I select the custom install from the startup application and then select full install, dont start. It gets to around 25-30% and fails due to "one step of the installation failing" due to the file "maps\00a_introduction.map" I have tried installing without playing but it still wont fully install and causes the game to lock up...

My computer is beyond the specs needed for H2... (AMD Quad at 2.61GHz,Nvidia GT240, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD)

Any solutions to this problem?

Very helpful, now...

It sounds like you have a corrupted disk, *cough* download it *cough* and use your paid-for cd-key, it will work fine.

Oh and download/install the latest GFWL client first

Reach ftw

I dont really wanna go and download the whole game again just to get it working... any chance that there is a download link to the specific file I'm looking for or a program that could clear up the issue?

I can't understand how the disc is corrupt tho, it's brand new and sealed =S

Don't download the whole game, just the map. That introduction thing is a cinematic, you should be able to find it on the net. Failing that, see if you can go into the CD folders themselves then manually copy across the file. Hope any of these work.
