Okay, I'm planning on getting Xbox live by the time Halo 2 comes out. I have a router, I'll just need to buy the wires and stuff. The question, though . . . Do I need another IP address to hook up my Xbox to the Net? I would think not, but someone told me you needed one for every piece of equipment running off of that modem.

By the way, I'm not even sure what an IP address is, and I checked briefly on Xbox.com and saw nothing about it. Just looking for confirmation.

I really don't know anything about XBL. I do, but not enough to answer the question. Sorry.

I think you just answered my question right there. I'm not 100% sure what I was talking about either, but that's what I was told. Guess he was wrong.

Depends on the router. Some routers mask everyone in their network under one IP address (these will usually advertise themselves on the box- "Connect 4 computers to one cable or DSL modem!" for example). Others parse out IP addresses given from the ISP.
