Hello Bungie community, as my name suggests I watch zombies(read as me creating crossovers from different universes, say the flood and T-virus zombies to create scary looking near invincible flood forms).

I was actually rather lucky. That never happened to me when I did it alone. However when I went to help a friend on co-op the game started trolling us with that mega turret every time.

Halo Wars was fun. A break from the hectic running and shooting of the other Halos.

True if I get tired of Halo Online I usually hop onto Halo Wars with my friends to change my gaming mood

Personally, the gameplay could have been more complex.

I like the game. Don't like the plot or characters. And there are way to many mistaked for me to consider it canon. Also it doesn't feel as 'free' as other RTSs.

Halo Wars doesn't have any canonical mistakes in it. THings like Spartans in Mark IV having shields is only in GAMEPLAY, and gameplay =/= canon.
You assume that's what I was talking about.

Well don't leave us all hanging, go ahead and tell us what you found to be so incredibly wrong you cannot count Halo Wars as canon (a moronic gesture, I assure you).

He may be referring to the pointless Arcadia mission, the Elites being idiots, having no shields (including the Arbiter, on both accounts) and the Shield World being hollow rather then in another dimension (how is that going to protect you from Halo?)

Either way, I liked the game myself

I thought the point of Arcadia was to get the spartans?

The Elites having no shields in the cinematic might be due to the type the were, other than that it's gameplay. Everybody knows Arbiters use older Armor due to the fact they are suppose to die. While it didn't have shields it was still bulletproof (literally).

I believe this is one of the Original shield worlds as described in cryptum. Shield worlds (Onyx's) were suppose to be the outposts of the galaxy built at key locations to fight the flood with precision and little collateral damage. So this could be a "true" shield world as they were meant to be.

QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZXCVBNM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't like it as a Halo game because the story wasn't canon, and I didn't like it as an RTS because it required no thought and the controls were clumsy. If I wanted to play an RTS, I'd play Starcraft 2 (which I do frequently).

I hate the PC Elitest.

That storywas canon, As an RTS it did require some thought, and the controls were good for a console RTS.

Play Starcraft all you want but there are many console/PC RTS games that are just as good

All the CNC games for the damn playstation had good controls and were godly for the PC and the same for halo wars.

Your just a bad fanboy.

It's definitely considered canon. That's one fact no one can disagree with.

Bungie helped Ensemble Studios with the character designs and plot so it has to be canon.

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

The cutscenes made little to no sense. Elites behaved like fools; charging into battles with spears against Spartans with guns. John Forge was cliched and predictable, and the idea that he could take on an Elite, let alone an Arbiter, in hand to hand combat is utterly laughable and one of the biggest blunders in the Halo franchise.

  • 04.25.2011 9:24 AM PDT

The cutscenes did look amazing and I liked the idea of an RTS Halo game. But I thought the storyline was dull and the characters clichéd (although saying that I did like the Arbiter in Halo Wars).
Ultimately I found the gameplay and graphics just did not stand up to other RTS games and it didn't have that factor that makes you want to keep playing. A shame, as Halo Wars could have been so much more than it was.
Just my thoughts.

Got Milk?

I thought the main gripe with HW was that it's an RTS on the Xbox, i think it would have garnered more love if they made it for the PC, which is better suited to such games?

I haven't played it though so....

Well the Sangheili who fought alpha company on the asteroid, seems like they didn't had any shields too.

Maybe the sangheili personal shield wasn't available to all of them in pre 2531

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I've only played it a few times and don't hate it. But RTS games don't naturally lend themselves to console play so they aren't very smooth.

True, I guess neither the Spartans and Elites didn't have personal energy shields at the time.

Who even says those elites knew a lot about the spartans? It's pretty early in the war. Forge was losing... he just used the elite's arrogance against him.
And if you're going to start about how he tackled, I don't think the arbiter was expecting that and he was standing over a slightly elevated plataform.

They discovered the location of the shield world thanks to the Arcadia attack. If the Spirit hadn't followed, then the Autumn would probably have been destroyed and a possible increase of failure for Captain Keyes's maneuvers at Reach.

Wow, that's a nice explanation.

Never thought about the Arbiter being on an elevated platform was the main cause of the fall. I just thought it was because Forge was strong lol

Halo Wars is great but not without it's flaws. I felt the three spartans weren't given enough character growth. Too much time was focused on Forge and Anders.
