Tubas Represent!

A while back I was watching the first part of Halo Legends when Cortana was talking about the Halo rings and how the forerunners sacrificed themselves to rid the galaxy of the flood infestation. During the video, I noticed that they put the DNA of different species inhabiting the the galaxy at the time in some machines placed on the species' home planet. After the rings fired, the machines opened up and allowed those species to continue on. My question is, why didn't the forerunners put in their own DNA into the machine, and since supposedly some forerunners settled on the ark, how come we don't see them? Discuss your topics here.

"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

The Forerunners are alive

-The encylopeda says they left the galaxy or the orion arm.

-The legendary ending of Halo 3 proves it,unless someone believes it's Reach *shudders*

-The largest evidence is the beginning of Cryptum, where Bornstellar/Didact is about to tell the story of the Forerunner trilogy. This proves he is alive after the Halo array activation.

I expect an epic comeback from them in Halo 4.
