Subject: Emile - Most useless spartan?

"A LIE is a LIE"

- Truly intelligent and deep Black ops trailer

Think about it -

Kat thought up the plan to "bring the fight to the covenant" and is a skilled hacker.

Jorge killed a few gazillion covenant when he sacrificed himself in that bomb.

Jun forwarded the assault on the spire and probably did much more when he accompanied Hasley (we probably don't know about it though)

Carter, nuff said, team leader kept everyone in line and cleared a path for N6 and Emile in the last mission. He made all the decisions and whatnot.

N6 is pretty much self explanatory.

And Emile? He was merely a bullet sponge for like the entire campaign, except at the very end when to used the MAC gun to kill a few phantoms (a marine could probably do this). Frankly, he had little or no use for like 95% of the campaign.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I don't think anyone was put onto Noble Team because of what they could do, but for what they have done. While he may have been useless during the fall of Reach, it is quite possible he is a legendary skilled Spartan-III.

He brings extra ammo to the fight.

they just needed someone to feel sorry for when they die, but he still failed at that job (your death sucked, let alone your -blam!- character)

Well, I didn't really care for emile's character, but seriously, HE could have at least have a brilliant death or something, like if he fighted alongside you in that "Lone wolf" chapter while he had a sword stuck through him.

He killed two Zealots. Nuff said. If there were two additional Zealots in your way when you're heading up to the MAC cannon, it would actually be technically impossible to complete the level on solo.
He always had the team's back when they were doing important -blam!-. And he killed some Banshees before you start walking to the PoA with him, NOT counting the ones he destroyed on ONI: Sword Base. Oh, and it's -blam!- Marlo Stanfield.

Emile is still pretty bad-blam- but those all seem to be minor when compared to what everyone else did

actually, i think all the a.i. spartans were useless after the first mission except for jorge. jun is horrible sniper, carter just bossed everyone round and was a really bad shot, kat is a disgrace to the legacy of spartans, emile is there just because he looks like a monster with that shoulder pad he has with his big scay kife on it, oh and that helmet? i mean come on, anybody could carve a skull into their helmet, and its not that scary, its distracting. the only two spartans on the team that are actually worth their mettle are noble six and jorge. hes the only that charges into battle, and actully tries to steal your kills even. i mean the game is good, but its frustrating when your own team mates are aboutas good a shot as a crosseyed retard- no offense to the mentlly challenged, my brother is mantally challenged and i know how people feel about other people talking about that, but i have a valid point. in reach the ais are supposed to be smarter, use better tctics, and arent supposed to hide like little babies, sucking their thumbs screamin out to you to kill the big bad aliens for them. sorry again i love halo; reach its a beautiful game, but the campaign kinda sucks because of the ais on your team. multipler is beautiful glitchy, but beautiful, its an awesome game but agin, the campign kinda sucks because the members of noble team are complete idiots, other than jorge.

Emile would've been useful if he didn't use his shotgun like a sniper rifle.

Sums up Emile. That's what happens when you give characters "signature weapons" mixed up with terrible AI.

  • 04.23.2011 7:54 PM PDT

Nah, he did much more in my opinion. On Legendary, having an invincible AI friend comes to use when all your minions are slaughtered. Mostly for distraction, of course.

Also, who knows what abominations all the Phantoms he killed carried. What if they all carried Zealots? trollface.jpg

Anyways. Marlo -blam!- Stanfield.

.

"Happiness is like glass, you might not always notice it but if you change your view and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light."

His weapon did not make sense at all because what spartan uses a shotgun for 300 yard shots? Even kat used a better gun.

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

Spartan 1337 was worse.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

Spartan 1337 was worse.
I'd bet against that.

He was good for distracting the Hunters partway through "The Pillar of Autumn"? I don't know.

I mean, can you take down two Banshees with one/two shotgun shells?

  • 04.24.2011 12:57 AM PDT

People talk about gaming characters as they were alive. They aren't! They cannot change what they do. They do what the makers made them to do. Bungie made him so useless, he didn't. It was up to Bungies imagination, they could make him go with the shotgun and -blam!- up everybody and then destroy 20 phantoms and clean up all those Field Marshalls who were on the way to the gun and then destroy the cruiser, but he didn't. Bungie made him so, it is their fault, not his.

For the fun of it!

I mean, can you take down two Banshees with one/two shotgun shells?
If you're talking about start of the Pillar of Autumn level, he actually used a grenade launcher in the back of the Pelican...

  • 04.24.2011 1:47 AM PDT

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

The Elite Field Marshall on the first level came sprinting out of the door he was guarding, it was one shot and he had a Shotgun.

Explain.

  • 04.24.2011 1:49 AM PDT

His shotgun was useless. Should of had a grenade launcher.
