Subject: One of the reasons why I like Kat's death...

Agree but there was a Halo Legends film (forgot the name, the one with ODST's) kind of sowed the same, that SPARTAN's can die suddenly just like a normal human.

I like it because it's like the hundreds of deaths of MC. MC doesn't kill himself, MC gets sniped, grenaded or gunned down.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The only death in a video game that truly brought a man tear to my eyes was Captain Jacob Keyes'.

I agree. Dramatic deaths are an overused cliche in Halo. There needs to be more sudden, real deaths, not this "Send me out with a bang" stuff.

thats what marines are for.

but kat died like that because she sucked. Spartans are NOT made to hack computers and provide intel (again thats what marines are for) they are made to run in there, perform impossible tasks, and kick some serious covenant ass.

That was her specialty, every spartan has some specialty.

I take it you're here for a reason?

Her death reminded me of Carmine from Gears 1.

And that one spartan who specialized in space combat in First Strike.

Got hit dead on by a Plasma Battery and was incinerated on the spot. Whoopsie.

Which SPARTAN was that?

I respect your opinion, I'm probably just going to disagree with it.

I found all of the Spartan characters in Halo reach really unbelievable and dislikable. So to me, it didn't make much difference, as I didn't care - probably a more important issue, as I know I am not the only one who feels that way.

ASIDE from that, I completely agree on the whole 'not going out with a bang' as it gets so repetitive.

I just felt that her death was so odd. No shields? Maybe that can be explained by glassing, but then why is everything else working, including the needle rifle used to shoot Kat, and the phantom the jackals were firing from? There were moments like this in Reach that were left unexplained, and sure, I like a bit of ambiguity at times but when it makes you feel lost and a little confused, that's just crap storytelling.

Ugh, sorry about the moany rant. Had a rough day.

Has nobody apart from me noticed that Kat's helmet was not attached to her neck armour? Her suit was not sealed and so her shields could not charge. That is why she got "headshotted", not an EMP.

Watch the cutscene at 2.28 and you'll clearly see her neck.
