My Grandfather was a Desert Ranger, my Father was a Veteran Ranger in the NCR. My father was killed by Caesar's Legion and they took my Brother. It's now my responsibility to uphold the mantle of the Rangers and avenge my Father and find my Brother.

1.Unknown amount off secret spartan III teams(like noble)

Red Team:

Alpha - 3
Beta - 11
Gamma - 3
Delta - 6

Noble Team: 6

So, 29 confirmed if I'm not mistaken. Plus:

Gauntlet: 6 (Estimated Numbers based off Noble's configuration)
Echo: 6 (Same)

So, all in all roughly 45(?).

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Here is the REAL number (taken from First Strike reprint.)
Fred was commanding 21 Spartans. 6 where wounded right at the beginning with 4 dead too.
So including Fred that's 22. But if you include John, Linda, and James who were doing a space op, along with Jorge, you have 26 Spartan-IIs that participated in the Fall of Reach.
As far as S-IIIs, there was just the 5 of Noble Team.
We don't know what Team Gauntlet and Echo are, but they could be one of the following:
S-II Class-II
S-IIIs (Gamma Co.)
Any of the S-IIs Fred was commanding.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED, that it was August 30 that those 6 Spartans were wounded and 4 were KIA instantly. It could be possible Gauntlet and Echo are comprissed of those 10 Spartans including Fred.

Either way, the official number is 26 TOTAL throughout Reach's last stand.

There was no S-II Class II and Gamma Company were not deployed when Reach fell.

I always assumed they were. Aszod is the last evac point on the continent. Those teams were assigned to evac duty. seems pretty likely that they were there.

Evil Otto said the Spartans of Lone Wolf are just scenery, nothing more.

Evil Otto said the Spartans of Lone Wolf are just scenery, nothing more.

Until we get more than one person, who has said he is usually wrong, to confirm this, get a new argument besides "Otto said so".

It's not working anymore.

Maybe I will when you drop the "Otto said it, so it's true" argument, which you probably should since Otto has said he is usually wrong.

You make him something he said he doesn't want to be, a spokesmen for all of Bungie.

You could always think for yourself and use the confirmed canon information that is available, privet caboose does just fine and he would probably wipe the floor with you in a canonical debate.
