I am on the UNSC's side of the issue, though I do have Insurrectionist sympathies. I believe that if they want, they should be able to break off and form their own government, but I think the way they were going about trying to convince people of their cause was all wrong, they were essentially terrorists and whether they should have been allowed to leave or not, they were still bombing innocent civilians for no real reason, they lost all my support for that.

Yes, Americans did what some could consider terrorist activities, but from my understanding, which could very well be slightly tainted due to history books in our school and such being mostly written by Americans, what the Patriots were doing was similar to what the Blacks would do during the Civil Rights Movement a couple centuries later. And that was for the most part civil disobedience, meaning they broke the laws, but there was not much deadly violence involved. They weren't even trying to break away from England at first, they thought of themselves as English men and women and merely wanted more voice in the government and their rights as citizens of the British Crown honored.
