QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZXCVBNM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the end of Halo Reach, why did they sacrifice a spartan to shoot down the carrier, instead of a marine? A marine could've done the same things, and it would have let the UNSC have two spartans instead of one, and this one can use AA's!! It just seems like such an illogical decision.

any and all marines that help you in that level end up as slag on the floor with pink spikes in them not exactly the guy you want in a MAC gun

Maybe, but all they had to do was point and shoot, and there were marines in the pelican with that guy. I forgot what his name is.

here is the bottom line, it was to make sure the job gets done! the Captain knew Noble Four and Six wouldn't let him down, and come hell or high water they didn't, Emile is defiant to the end and he knew even solo, that Six would do what was needed. would you rather let a marine try and probably fail, keep in mind that Six had to shoot and fight his way through a room filled with Sangheili before reaching the cannon, no marine could have fought through there and there was no time to let Six fight his way through, then land another marine (or squad).

What if N6 and the marines fought their way through, then a marine shot down the carrier, then they all left on the PoA. This way no one would get sacrificed.

This is actually a better idea. Everybody stays, with the pilot waiting in the pelican. The marines and N6 fire the onager and destroy the carrier. Everybody gets back in the pelican and they all fly away in the PoA.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

You expect a few Marines to take out 3 Zealots, half a dozen Grunts and then a Field Marshall?

Can I have some of what you're smoking?

Spartan III were made to be sacrificed.

If you notice at the end of that mission Keyes and his pelican leave when six starts heading towards the gun. The Pillar of Autumn had a countdown and at the end of the countdown the engines started and there was no way to abort that countdown so it could not have happened. Thats why the PoA is taking off when Keyes isnt even in it

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Because Bungie introduced a character that needed to be killed off.
