Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

One, two, Pinkie's... Coming for you...
Three, four... You will breath no more...
Five, six... Gotta add it to the mix...
Seven, eight... Gonna bake cupcakes...
Nine, ten... You're my very best friend...

Alright, so I bought Halo 2 Vista about a month ago for my Laptop. My Laptops Graphics card has melted so I can't do games on it anymore. So I decided to put it on my Desktop, everything worked fine until I got to the main menu.....

It had like 7-15 Frames per second! I had to exit (After turning the graphics to the lowest possible) go to the short-cut right click go to properties then compatibility, and set the display to 640X480. It brought the frame rate at the main menu up to about 17 Frames per second(Still bad). So when I got in Game finally(Custom). It was still horrific to play, couldn't even aim.

So I've come to ask if there's a way to increase the Frame rate that I don't already know about, like a mod or something! I would appreciate it.

My System Specs are:

Windows Vista

Intel(R) Celeron(R) D

CPU 3.20GHZ

RAM 1GB

Graphics Card ATI Radeon XPress 200 series.

Ideas?...

I've also played Halo 1 no problem on this computer. And it says I have the system requirements, so the question is. Why no Halo for me'z?

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Step 1. Go to add remove programs.
Step 2. Uninstall h2v.

You should get the FPS Limiter. I don't really remember where to download it, but, I'm sure you can find it on Google.

Also, Jacob, why haven't you uninstalled it?

Darn, I couldn't find FPS Limiter. I looked every where. Does anyone else know how I can improve my Frame rate?

...I'll be the first to say it, even though you "pass the specs", could you still post your system specs? My Laptop past the specs and i still got a weird stuttering on it (My PC still runs it smooth as butter).

Also as suggested, try FPS limiter, provided the issue is mouse lag, if your frames are really low in game, try capping the frame rate to 30 or 60fps, it improved performance on my Laptop so it could help here.

Arrogant hyperbolic exclamations of woe? Seems like a normal day for Halo/Bungie.net.

It runs, but it stutters a lot. It has issues on many PCs.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Post your specs and reinstall your graphics driver. You shouldn't be getting such horrible frame rates.

Something smells fishy...

You could try forcing on vertical sync from your graphics card's control panel. It won't eliminate your FPS problem but it will make it more bearable.

I also have FPS problems with H2V.

Do you have Xfire or an E-Mail? I could try sending you it through that. Just send me a message telling me the info.

How is limiting his frame rate going to help him increase his frame rate?

Vertical sync is not going to help either since his frame rate is lower than his refresh rate.

No idea, but, it worked for me. I was in the same situation as he is, so, I thought the same fix would work.

if you wanted to troll, you should have added a step 3 that tells the person to smash the game or something like that.

I'm disappointed in you!

on topic: For me, I found out I had to keep my laptop elevated to keep the PC cool. If it got really hot, then the fps started to seriously decline and I wouldn't be able to play cuz of it.

You should really look into more RAM. Vista is a needy little -blam!- when it comes to RAM. >2gb RAM is recommended for doing anything on Vista, for anything, not just gaming.

  • 04.29.2011 6:41 AM PDT

Update graphics card drivers DEFIANTLY.
Make sure AA is disabled
Use that frame rate limiter, try 30fps
Have a look online for a program called "game booster"

Hope it helps!

Intel Celeron? Don't flame me but i think that's your problem. And as someone mentioned, 2GB Ram is a must for vista, if you an get more ram then do it, but im beginning to think its the processor that's causing the stuttering.

I could be wrong however.
