The UNSC did win the war:)bc 1. the flood f---ed up the covies 2. the UNSC distroyed the forerunner ships in the events of halo wars 3. the brutes are traitorous swines 4. UNSC haz spartans 5. the prophet of Truth would rather gloat about victory than activate the ark and 6. they didnt stop the piller of autuam when they had the chance. After looking back, the multiple occasions were the covies could have won and did something to screw themselves over really surpises me they came as far as they did.
It wasn't just the flood, the Covenant Separatists played a whole role in the outcome of the war. Yeah, the forerunner ship destruction was really necessary or else the war would have ended, true.
Brutes are not traitorous, they followed Orders from the Prophet of Truth, they are more of a zealous type of creature as opposed to traitors.
Most Spartans died, only leaving about 11 Spartan II's alive and about 300 Spartan III's (which we don't know about their whereabouts).
You're about to "become god" I think you would brag too, and they did stop the Pillar, but that made it crash into Halo and thus, making the events of CE through 3 happen. u must keep in mind the flood drasticly slowed the covnant progress as well as brought down high charity. Brutes r in fact traitrous as seen in chapter twenty-two of Tobias S. Buckwell's The Cole Protocalwhere the brute cheftain, Pellius assited the kig-yar (cant reffer to them as just jackels anymore) in betraying Thel 'Vadam (who at the time had an "ee" suffix)by assulting their ship and taking the crew as prisoners. If 1 of these surviving spartans died while doing their super-important missions (or died earlier in Noble-6's case) the UNSC may have lost. I like this thread i think ill save it
