I am the PHILOSORAPTOR!

I was doing some research, delving into the origins of the Spartan's term for when the coast is clear: "oly oly oxen free".

I noticed there were German words that sounded very close to the pronunciation of the aforementioned term. The german words are "Alle alle auch sind frei", which means (literally), "Everyone everyone is also free".

Just wondering if anyone else here on b.net ever looked into this, and if so, what they might have found.

Anyone's input is entirely welcome!

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Oh, well that explains it.

I must've found something randomly associated with it.
Don't you think its weird how the German words can apply to the way the Spartans use the term, though?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I don't really trust Wikipedia. Anyhow, I used to be really interested in the spartans, but they're so...robotic, non-human. Their emotions can never be shown, which is understandable, but has made me lose interest. Now, I'm more interested in the more human-like ODSTs.

"You were weak... and gods must be strong."

Ehh.. Yeah the phrase was either derived from an original use by German people, or it's just the translation/original use of the phrase came from people who knew German but used english.

There's nothing too spectacular about it though..
