Subject: What powers a Pelican?

Trussingdoor is pretty kewl. He fires lasers and doesn't afraid of anything.

It runs on grunt tears.

We don't argue, we debate.

True.

@ TrussingDoor:
Wonderful, thank you for your insightful commentary.

In any event it would probably use hydrogen in some fashion, as:

A: Everything else in the UNSC inventory does, and standardization is important

B: It's very common and easy to collect.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

A hybrid of hydrogen electricity and oil.

Im guessing Nuclear, not sure which kind with a hydrogen back up system.

well again, with how often they crash they'd probably be having small nuclear explosions all over the place XD

What a waste....

Solar power?

I heard about a plane that was solar powered, and it could go like Mach 1.

That still leaves the safety issue. A fission reactor would melt down if it was breached, say in a crash. A fusion reactor would vapourise a significant area should it ever rupture. And weight would most certainly be an issue for a drop ship.

I vote some as-yet-unknown to science clean energy source. Colloquially called "fusion coils".

Reason being MJOLNIR suits use these fusion reactors, and, by your logic it is a terrible idea because every time a spartan gets shot at BOOOM! we lose half the Army. :P
While I agree with you wholey, you'd never see me with a fusion reactor strapped to my arse, the UNSC must have a 'safe', 'clean' and 'stable' reactor for them to risk equipping their elite troops with them as standard.

Not to mention it is mentioned that soldiers have portable fusion reactors. Again showing that they may not be fusion in the way we think of it.

You're joking right? Just because the reactor uses fusion doesn't mean that it's a thermonuclear bomb.

No... I just forgot to retract my tongue after licking all those windows.

My point was that just like the MJOLNIRs fusion reactor, the Pelicans isn't going to explode just because it crashes.
