Ignorance is the gun pointed at the head of humanity.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Johnson's like 89, Slipspace travel and cryo keep you young.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Cryo-sleep and augmentations do that to you.

I like to think of myself as the easter bunny, leaving treats for people who actually read the thread.

Biologically, he's probably closer to 30, what with cryo and all that. Considering the augmentations, he could probably fight just as well when he turns eighty.

  • 04.26.2011 10:10 PM PDT

1. He has spent considerable time in cyro sleep.
2. The average human lifespan has most likely increased dramatically, essentially making 40 the new 25.
3. He is augmented so that aging won't have a serious if any impact on his training.
4. You have to remember Avery Johnson is over 80. I think 82 is the exact number. 42 or so is nothing.

"Concise and devoid of elegance...what I have come to expect from human communication"-Endless Summer

2. cryo sleep

3. Slipspace travel

Your math is off. 2552-2511=41.

But yeah, pretty much because of the augments and cryo. Plus throw in what medical tech will be like in 500 years...

_That's What's Up_

cryo sleep doesnt age you. and by space time relativity theory, you are a lot younger when moving through space to and from destinations

It says here that he was born on 2510.

Which means that at the end of his career, he was 42 years old.

I was under the impression that most people start to become less healthy and less athletic as they get into their 30s. Even if he is a Spartan, he is still a human.

I just find it strange that even when he's 42, he can still kick some serious ass.

Cryo-Sleep is your friend.

Johnson was in his 80's when he died.

This, and also I think Jacob Keyes was over 100 when he died.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Cryogenic hibernation keeps you in a state of suspended aging. That coupled with the Spartan augmentations keeping a Spartan in their prime longer makes him a fit soldier probably into his sixties at least.

  • 04.27.2011 3:56 AM PDT

also, he never took a day off. so his skills havent had a chance to degrade yet

  • 04.27.2011 5:15 AM PDT

"Question. Which Spartan is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False. Master Chief."
"Well, that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought."
"Spartans shoot Sangheili. Spartans. Sangheili.....Battle Star Galactica."

Dur. Was passing out as it was when I replied. My bad. >.<'

Yeah, he's anywhere from his mid-twenties to early thirties biologically.

  • 04.27.2011 11:55 PM PDT

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Life expectency has risen, so it's normal. It's like being 30 and with his augmentations, he's probably like in his 20's.

  • 04.28.2011 3:56 AM PDT

sure did you not see Jorge he was the same age as the chief and he was still going strong and he didnt spend as much time in cryo as the chief so the chief is probably younger biologically
