You using version 1.00? That may be why. Try installing the update patch.

By the way, I'm a new user to this forum and I myself need a question with installing Halo. I just bought the real game (after using an illegal copy for a while) and I click on Multiplayer and I can't connect to the network. Wtf? It worked before. My firewalls are off (both the Windows and Norton ones) and they're the same configuration as before when I was playing Halo without the CD. Someone please help, I can't go on Multilpayer and that's the reason why I used $20 today.........I'm tired of 1.04, I want 1.07!!!!!

You can't use the auto-updater to go from 1.04 or less to 1.07. You need to manually install 1.07.

You talking to that other guy?

I already have 1.07. I just can't go on Multiplayer somehow. Every time I click on Multiplayer, the music and menu kind of freeze up and a box comes up and says, "Halo can't connect to the network." The server port is at 2303 and the client port is at 2302 (or vice versa, I forget the defaults). So what's wrong with my game???

the samew exact problem happened to my cuzins (even though it never happened to me...) i can see wat ur talking about, it just gets frozen for about 2-10 secs, music stops, adn theres an error message rite?

make sure tht both ur ports are connected to yoor mainframe, well i dunno how to REALY explain it simply, but ur pc mite not be allowing ur ports in, even though u shut off both of ur firewalls, i dunno how to connect adn reopen ur ports into ur hardrive, etc, but i suggest u ask a mod in this forums, or a realy experieced person, srry i cant be much of a help, i just know a little bit of wat to do...=/

i believe if you look in the forum rules and regulations, you will find this:

Use a spell checker to check your posts for misspellings. There's no point in making a forum topic if we can't understand it because of multiple spelling errors.

Don't use stupid abbreviations. (Example: Your = ur, You = u, Are = r, I = EYE, one = 1)

did you install the manual update?

are you on dialup or on broadband?

can you load webpages and stuff (is your connection active)?

if you have a router, have you opened ports 2302 and 2303?
(in most cases this is only necessary for hosting a server but it might make a difference here)

is your firewall norton? (if it is... norton is crap and it does funny things that i cant explain... blocking ports that have been specifically opened... restricting manually opened access... doing funny things while it says its OFF... etc.)

is windows firewall on? (windows firewall is ghey)
(you can tell by looking in your network connections folder and see if the internet connection says "connected, firewalled." if it does say that, disable windows firewall....)

thats about all i can think of atm.
