"The measure of a man is what he does with power"-Plato

I am wanting to build a gaming PC and I want help because I want a machine that is good enough to run Halo 1,2 and Custom Edition among other titles (like Age Of Empires 3 and Civilisation and such).

I am a complete tool when it comes to PC gaming. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

And Thanks in advance.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

We knew that by the time the first paragraph was halfway through, when you expressed a desire to play Halo 2.

Post a budget.

That's a strict-ish budget.

here's one of the DIY kits I was looking at for my future rig: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemLis t=Combo.634257

You could probably get by with that integrated chip until you buy a video card.

Again with Newegg when he's given you a price in pounds. :(

I priced up the build you linked and over here it'd cost around £485/$810. You guys have no idea how good you have it with your prices. :)

Crap, dude, all I did was do a conversion on Google and use it as a base for the budget. Didn't think the price would jump that high for you gents.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

There is no integrated graphics on that motherboard.

Thanks for all your input so far, if I have to spend more so be it. These can be built over time.

I thought a motherboard would have to have one if it has a monitor output, like that mobo does?

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Intel graphics are now built into the CPU die instead of the motherboard. You can still pop in a dedicated GPU to override it as usual.

"It doesn't matter what I say, since Halo is already more popular than god!" - Zero Punctuation, Halo 3 review

Halo: CE would work on most things I would think.

however Halo 2 needs Vista and 7, so you need to get them working first

Proceed to your nearest shop that sells games and buy it. If you don't want to get too ripped off, head to an online retailer.

There's no legitimate way to download Halo PC.
