jun went with her to castle base, but when red team found her, jun wasn't there so I suppose he was killed defending the base

That or was tasked with another objective while en route to Castle. There are many possibilities really between those two ultimate fates of dying or surviving Reach.
Yeah, in Waypoint's "Defiant to the End" video, it shows Red Team and their crash site on Highlands, among those bodies, you see Jun. (or a spartan with the exact same armor, which is highly unlikely because the other spartans in the vid are wearing standard Mark V), so Jun most likely died helping Red Team, after escorting Halsey to CASTLE.

He wasn't mentioned with red team in the first strike so I doubt it, His orders were to bring dr.halsey to castle base, she didn't even want him to, chances are something else made jun go and dr.halsey arrived on her own at castle base, she never mentioned him at all

Halo: Reach isn't canon, don't make this error of thinking it is. If you wish to learn about the true events of the battle of Reach, I'd recommend picking up a copy of Eric Nylund's "The Fall of Reach".
You're obviously not "qualified", because you couldn't be more wrong. The games overwrite canon, and the newer stuff over-writes the old stuff, so The Fall of Reach isn't canon.

Many will enter, only one will rise to the top and he might not even win....

I understand you're an ignorant fanboy and all, but grow up already.

If Reach wasn't Canon, Spartans would have dragons and the Covenant would use party poppers as weapons.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

Don't listen to him. Game Canon comes before book. That is kinda the problem with halo cryptum. It breaks Canon with the halo 3 terminals. There are some Canon problems with reach, like the POA, but "The Fall of Reach" was made before the game AND was made in coordination of bungie. And the game followed the story of noble 6, the book was the story of John 117.

"What do you hear?"
"Nothing but the rain."
"Then grab your gun and bring in the cat."
"Boom, boom, boom!"

so The Fall of Reach isn't canon.

Actually, both Reach and TFoR are considered canon.
