Subject: Is Master Chief a virgin? -- Serious Question

It says in Fall of Reach I do believe that Spartans' sex drives are downsized to a degree, does this mean MC is a virgin (i.e. has never had -blam!- intercourse). I mean, he was abducted from society at age six, and augmented at age 14. I find it doubtful he slept with any fellow Spartans personally, during the age period 6-14, it just doesn't seem plausible. (Unless he were raped at a very young age.)

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.

yes he is a 40 year old virgin

Are you serious?

-_-

I'm... I'm just having trouble believing somebody as epicly badass as him would be a virgin.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Yes, he is a virgin. Every Spartan (Except for Carter and Kat cause you know, they were too close *nudge nudge, wink wink* and possibly Maria)is a virgin, since they didn't have the need to actually reproduce

  • 05.01.2011 7:14 PM PDT

Yes, no Spartan ever had the chance. Men can still have the luxury but the Woman on the other hand cannot carry a baby. Their skeleton was hardened to a point of no expansion, a baby wouldn't fit.

well if that's a shocker there's a guy who is epicly badass and he's a homo-blam!-.

No no no...

A POSSIBLE side effect of one of the augmentations was reduced sex drive, with the worst of 'killing' it.

In no way does it say that it happened 100%, or happened at all.

As for Chief being a Virgin, I'm not sure I see why it matters but most likely yes...

Edit: Also there has been two spartan relationships.

Two members of Black team, and Kat and Carter.

I guess though that it would make sense to make John a virgin. Virgins represent purity and such. In the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, Freddy is always defeated by a virgin.

There were two members of Team Black that were making out in a bathroom on Reach (they may have been between 12-14 years old.) But that doesn't mean that they had sex.
As far as Maria goes, it could be possible she was artificially inseminated and would get a c-section later.

Also Bungie (I believe Marty to be specific) said that there was possibly some sort of relationship between Carter and Kat. I noticed also that Carter carried Kat's dead body at the end of New Alexandria.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Yes. Every Spartan (Except Maria I think) was a virgin. What do you expect when you're taken at the age of six and forced into the military, then genetically altered at puberty to the point that your sex drive is gone?

Chief could "get it up" (I think), but he wouldn't know what to do with it, and he wouldn't really want to do anything with it.

yeah. All Spartans sexdrives were reduced as part of a side effect of the augumentations. Spartan I's however are not limited to being virgins. Johnson does have sex at the end of Contact Harvest with some girl who I forget.

Um, again no. The reduced sex drive was a POSSIBLE, not always going to happen side effect.

Kat and Carter were never in a relationship. It just seemed like it.

Legendary commentary. Outright stated.

ORION candidates were different from Spartan-IIs, their augmentation was nowhere near as comprehensive, and t was preformed post-puberty.

OFF TOPIC: Anybody scared right now? Obama is about to make a random remark at the white house (where it's 10:30 PM!) No word on what it's about, but the white house called up the NEWS organizations telling them to show them live. Normally wouldn't the President wait till the next day to talk about stuff?
I bet it's Iraq, nukes, aliens, aestroids

Nobody knows. This is really seriously scary.

Not proven and that is only slightly hinted at by a composer, not a writer or anyone else with a similar job. So no, your correction is not right.

Okay then, show me PROOF they weren't in a relationship.

I believe there has been proof to say there were. Didn't one of the main guys in Reach's development say they were the only survivors of the original Noble Team, and thus were closer then any normal Spartan?

Carter carries Kat's body to evac. Carter is hit the WORST by her death, his tone of voice is completely different then normal.

I'm sorry, but you haven't shown anything to disprove it.

It's there for a reason y'know? I doubt they would just add it for the lulz.

It's hinted at for character development. Other than that it says here that...

Halo: The Fall of Reach page 57:

Catalytic thyroid implant: platinum pellet containing human growth hormone catalyst is implanted in the thyroid to boost growth of skeletal and muscle tissues. Risk: rare instances of elephantitis. Suppressed (s)exual drive.

It doesn't say possible anywhere. It says explicitly that it will happen not rarely or 50/50 chance like others.

Too bad Spartan III's didn't need that augmentation and thus, nullify your statement above. It's a risk by the way, not necessarily going to happen.

And if it wasn't true, the other two would have said something like they did through the commentary.

I see it under the Risk section. That is not 100% chance.

Edit: Even then, suppressed -blam!- drive can take many forms. From the person not wanting sex at all to simply wanting it less.

Signatures are for squares.

Spartan II's don't always have repressed sex drives.

That's been common knowledge since 2006. The Halo Graphic Novel has a retired Spartan II who has a family.
