If you do, make sure it's without making a post.

Also, I like it when Moderators give me reasons on why I was blacklisted. Otherwise, I get kinda pissy. And by "kinda", I mean really.

Alright, the mods can do one of two things:

1) They can send the member a reason as to why they were blacklisted. The member has a chance of coming back and causing trouble for being blacklisted.

2) They can not send the member a reason. The member is more likely to come back and cause problems, claiming that they were blacklisted for no reason whatsoever.

Sure, the mods could not send PMs, or warn the member, but it will most likely cause more problems than solve.

* Try to fix the BlackList Bypass, if you can.

Do the impossible, then.

* When you blacklist, there is no need to give for a reason.

That is just stupid, if you tell the person why they were blacklisted then there is a chance that they will amend their behaviour when they come back. If you give them no reason they will get really frustrated and most likely spam even more when they return.

Posted by: KilroyWasHere117
Also there is no need to say who blacklisted you (something they should fix) , if you do either you are getting too personal.

So what if someone was blacklisted by mistake and they want to appeal?

* A new thing that would be a good add-on to this site would be a Report to Moderator button, where if someone gets to offensive you can report them. Moderaters can see a list of what is being reported. Of course people are going to spam that button for the first month, but after it should be fine.

Or you could just use the Send Message to Moderator button, which involves no more work on Achronos' behalf.

No but seriously, it should be personal, otherwise people will just think the site is run by computers, and then they'll think the computers won't like them and then they'll throw out all their computers. :/

Devolution at it's peak.

actually if somone is perma banned can't they IP block. I know you can change your IP but that takes some work that not everyone knows but just about everybody knows you can just get a new account.

I wonder why he has another account. I can see you still don't like him, even after he joined the jumpers, hah.

No cause if they IP ban you and lets say your on a broad-band , if they bann the IP it could ban the rest of the people in the neighborhood ... Also if you have a stactic IP it could ban you for a day and then ban some innocent person the next day if the IPs keep swiching

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Is that the real Kilroy or just a poser??

Laugh out loud!

Anyways, I sort of like the "Report To Moderator" button. I see tons of folk I'd love to report to na mod all the time, but I am way to lazy to do anything.

I'll be on my own side.

The only one that I wouldn't mind seeing is the "Report" button.

The mods could maybe have a separate box for the reports, so their inboxes aren't flooded as much. Of course, there will still be people sending PMs instead of using the report button.
The button could send a quote/shot of that particular post, the poster's name, and a link to the thread in question, so the mod can delete/lock it if necessary.

A couple of the mods, like Recon, tell the person why they were banned. Shishka, on the other hand, usually just gives a smart-assed comment before locking. I like that better, because it's usually funny, and it's what I would do.

I've always been a little weary of those. Half of the time they are put to good use, the other half they are abused by trolls that like to play hell with a mod's mind. Given the level of maturity shown by the majority of the population here, I wouldn't be surprised if the latter was more common than the former.

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

The Moderators and Bungie have the right under Bungie Rules to do whatever they want. *Good Ideas, just sometimes things happen that can't be reversed.* Also it would be a neat thing, but ppl would abuse it like colored text before the new hawtness, from what I have heard. So the best way to deal with it is just keep banning them and eventually the system deletes the old accounts. B.net is the best it can be right now. Someone will always find a way around the system.

* Moderators, whenever you block a thread. Just do it, you have the terms of use as evidence. If you block, and then make a reason, you are getting too personal all they are going to do is flame back.
Then we would get a "Why was my thread locked?" thread. It's always best to tell a member why their thread was locked, just so there's no confusion and the member doesn't do the same exact thing again.

* When you blacklist, there is no need to give for a reason. Also there is no need to say who blacklisted you (something they should fix) , if you do either you are getting too personal. How can anybody learn if they don't know what they did wrong? And it should say who blacklisted you so the members can get more clarification from the moderator that banned them or inform our "bosses" if they feel a moderator isn't acting appropriately.

* A new thing that would be a good add-on to this site would be a Report to Moderator button, where if someone gets to offensive you can report them. Moderaters can see a list of what is being reported. Of course people are going to spam that button for the first month, but after it should be fine. While a "report to active moderators" would be a great addition, we also have bnetmods@gmail.com that almost everybody forgets about. People always try to come up with these excellent ways to help out, but don't help out with the current system we have set up.
