Is any (noteable) connection available

Other then the fact that the Forerunners took a number of them to repopulate their species after they activated the Halos, none that I can think of.

Maybe cryptum 3 will have them kicking forerunner arse (every other race seems to do it)

  • 05.01.2011 8:30 PM PDT

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

There is no evidence that they were in any way notable before the activation of the array. The Forerunners obviously knew about them, since they saved them from extinction.

elite fanboi btw

No, they have no relevance. But I do believe the precursors made them.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Sanhegleighee
Lol.

But no, Forerunners are mammals, more specifically primates, as evidenced by the fact that they have fur and share many similarities with humans.

They share many traits with Earth's mammals, but as they aren't from Earth they can't be classified as a proper mammal.

If both humans and Forerunners were "given breath" by the Precursors, they would basically fall into the same category, but I see your point, especially seeing how the Flood were supposedly a Precursor creation.
The biggest thing that separates Forerunners from the humans though would be the mutations that they go through.

  • 05.01.2011 9:34 PM PDT

I've wondered: do the mutations Forerunners go through an extension of a natural process they've always underwent, or is it only with the advent of the mutation technology that it became part of their culture?

how can the forerunners leave behind giant death machines and lots of chatter but not leave a single picture or drawing of themselves?

Even the greatest were once at the bottom.

They must of not cared about themselves.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

To be honest after reading cryptum i think there is a slight chance the forerunners created the elites as an experiment that turned into a true lifeform.

  • 05.02.2011 8:17 AM PDT

what exactly in Cryptum gives you that idea?

When bornsteller returns to his homeworld he remembers a time a lifeworker made a creature with 3 hearts and other traits. Bornsteller liked the idea but his mother sent the lifeworker far far away from the planet because she thought it was dangerous.

For some reason that brought the elites to mind since we know they have atleast 2 hearts.

I thought the same thing, but I saw them as a future evolution of this basic creature that was engineered for little more than enjoyment.
