Is it possible for a spartan to lose it and go all rouge and become evil? As in evil I mean turn on the human race. Sorry if this seems stupid but I thought up a really cool story set up around this idea.

Best song ever!

Theres a reason for everything, not through the use of religion, but via the power of LOGIC AND REASON!!

It would make for some decient Fan fic.
Plus, the possibility of this would be more similar to the Schism of the covenant, or the rebel factions in legends and such.

I doubt it. Spartans were indoctrinated to be completely loyal to the UNSC

No. Although some Spartans did try to escape from Halsey only to find their clones back at their homes. Five Escaped, Two committed suicide when they found their clones while the other 3 went back.

I still think they wouldn't rebel even if they were not indoctrinated. Fighting against the Covenant to save the human race isn't exactly a questionable task, they more then likely knew that they were pivotal in Mankinds survival.
Going nuts from all the fighting and eventually going rogue is unlikely too, the Spartans, even before they were augmented were incredibly strong willed people. I don't picture them going crazy.

They can suffer from PSTD.

Anyway, in canon? Most likely not. In roleplays or fanfic? Maybe.

They can suffer from PSTD.

I stand corrected, I did not consider that.

They definitely wouldn't show it in the same way, but I figure they can suffer from forms of it.

Well they're essentially an ONI tool, if ONI wanted to subvert the UNSC or something like that...then there probably could be "evil" Spartans. It's an idea I'm using my fanfic anyway. My main human villain is using a Spartan III to do all his diabolical little dirty work.

I'm thinking of bring Six back in the fanfic, but it wouldn't be her who is the baddie, it'd be somebodies I made up :P

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

ACTUALLY A SPARTAN HAS TURNED "EVIL."

Soren-066. He was one of the Spartans deformed by the augmentations. He got a job at ONI and several years later was persuaded by a Innie to join the rebellion. He fought against Ralph and broke his ribs. The two stole a longsword and it was soon shot down.
It's believed that Soren could possibly still be alive but he most likely died when Reach was glassed.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Meh, Soren as described by Halsey was "not a traitor but a lost soul." not necessarily evil, more like, confused.

Yeah, he couldn't grasp that at the moment they didn't want to field him for the risk that the others would worry over him and be less effective + they had no armor that could fit him.

The rebel basically fed him dislike of the deskjob until he decided to go with.

I agree with your second statement: not in canon, but in a fan fic, yeah - there's plenty of reasons to choose from, but canonically they would probably not apply to Spartans.
