RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Anyone noticed that the account in the OP is a phone number?

*debates calling*

I had to call it. I couldn't tell what the person said, I think it was in a different language.

I was drunk, probably hard to understand me. Call earlier and I'll gladly talk audibly.

On topic: That is odd. Maybe it's one of Achronos' alts.

EDIT: Tom why did you change the OP? That's a different account than was linked earlier...

Loose talk is noose talk.

He's not the only one, too.

My bet is that account deletion time has been extended by a few months. Maybe 6 months.

  • 05.02.2011 4:50 PM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

Has anyone else noticed that all these accounts Tom has linked have been created on the 14th of April 2010?

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

Pwned

That theory has been broken. Though that was a interesting thought.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

*Obligatory post in thread*

Yeah, I was wondering why it wasn't deleted when I checked on the 21st, but whatever. I wonder what happened to the auto-deletion process, though.

I think a better question is, how did you even find that account?
I saw st3althsniper22 had made the account SteaIthsniper (steaith - capital I not L) while he waited for this account name to be available. When I looked up the account ~3-4 days ago I saw the date and realised it should have been deleted.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.

I only have myself to blame, eh Stealth?

Yes, you do. And so does everyone else. I blame Boss for this strange occurrence.

Let's be honest, it could be a lot worse.

This looks like a question for a forum ninja. Good thing I'm not one because I'm clueless.

So who says that accounts don't get deleted after getting permabanned?
"Watermelon King", the account of the guy who made the "Shishka is a Pegboy" threads, has not been deleted despite that he hasn't logged on for five or six years.

But I can provide the ID number of an account that I am 100% sure has been deleted after getting permabanned, making that statement moot.

There must be some other requirement for account deletion that has nothing to do with getting permabanned. Maybe if you've not used the Windows Live ID for the account in one year? I'm sure GJJ still uses his account for Xbox Live, and maybe that other Watermelon kid still logs into the Windows Live ID for that account to use it somewhere else.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

No reason to deactivate the auto-delete. Wonder what happened?

Perhaps, then, the system was changed to allow them to keep their nameplate, which would need them to keep their account.
Bingo.

The special Halo PC nameplate requires you to link your account in order to enter the code. They need to keep that link regardless of the activity on the bungie.net account.

For other cases, like this one. Well, I don't know.

This is definitely the most likely out of everything suggested so far.

Yeah funny you make this thread now. The creator of our group 'Owners of the Katana' should, I think, have had his account deleted just yesterday. We've been counting down for a while now and are surprised it's still up.
What happens when that happens?

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Like others have said, maybe the Windows Live ID is in use, just not in website?

I don't know. One way is to get perma'd from the forums as a definite way of getting an account deleted. But maybe the reason why they won't delete an old account is probably because it is linked.

Now, for some people who will probably argue back that those accounts aren't linked, well, some people like to hide their GT. I know I hide mine, but mine is linked.

I've noticed a lot of accounts like this before. They all have one thing in common:
They've never posted.

I just assumed that if you never post you are immune to certain things like the auto-delete.
But there are other accounts over a year old that have posted and haven't been deleted. Gamerjunkiejim and goodeye for example.

Jim is a mod and I couldn't find a goodeye account that has ever posted. I stand by my point.
