I was wondering if each forum had a "primary moderator" assigned to it so that each forum would get even coverage. If so, it would be good to know where each mod makes his rounds. That way when someone PM's a mod about an off-topic thread or spam they know exactly which mod to go to.

That's not the case at this point. We have been considering it though.

While I don't think mods should have a designated area to "patrol" (this would spread them out too thin), I agree in the sense that we need some way to know who's on. HFCS isn't exactly the best way.

Perhaps a sidebar could be added under forums or something similar. It's rather tedious to have to send PM's to completely random mods hoping one of them is here.

...At least, until my message marking idea is implemented. ^_-

...so does writing people as ppl.

I agree about the HFCS, I don't think it works as well as it could, and it's a bit of a bother.

Assigning us to specific boards would be a bit of a problem, especially if one of us is busy for whatever reason.

We're actually robots. That may sound good, until you realise that the Webmaster drew up the blueprints.

OK, I just wanted to know if there was a better way to decide which Mod to PM about an off-topic/misplaced thread/spam instead of eenie meenie miney moe.

My personal method is to PM whatever mod I've noticed has had some recent activity (if I've been online and in enough of the forums long enough to notice their activity). Failing that, I just pick and choose, and apply a healthy dose of patience when I don't see action taken.
Often I think I might find something which I think should be locked that a mod might just think is annoying and let go. In those cases, c'est la vie!
HFCS also helps, if you want to take the time to find it and message them that way.

I figure it like this: Achronos and the folks in the know at Bungie are working on two things right now:
1. (What I hope and think will be) The Greatest Game of the Year--no pressure or anything!
2. The New Hotness, of which we've received absolutely no updates (weekly, anyway) about.

When that New Hotness comes, it may not be perfect--on the other hand, it may very well be--but it will be the very best Bungie can offer us, its loyal (and even the fickle) fans. Free. Pretty cool, huh?
Sure, you can argue that you're paying for your internet service and you pay for Xbox Live, and you can -blam!- and moan about a hundred other things, too, but what good does it do? Accept what's free, help Bungie and the mods keep this haven on the 'net somewhat haven-like. Follow the rules. Play nice. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Rant over, cliches safely tucked back into briefcase. Thank you.

I'll leave you with this thought: What will the mods be doing November 9th at midnight?
Will they get a day off to play Halo 2, or will they have to be policing these forums when the flood begins?
