Sadly, my friends and I have not had one for some time. XBL pretty much ruined the greatness of the LAN party, made too many people lazy.Too true.
The last LAN that we did was about half way through Halo 3's run. 6 37"-40" LCD HDTV's, 2 27" CRTTV's, 8 360's and 20 people. Lasted about 14 hours, had an butt-load of food and drinks, electricty bill spiked $67 over the previous month, much laughter, even more trash-talk, got to show some people that their prowess on XBL doesn't count for jack in LAN, got to see some XBL tough guys learn about running your mouth in person. It was a blast. You lucky bastard.
A lot of us came up with Halo, a bunch of us where seniors when CE came out and the rest are between that and graduating the year Reach came out. It took a lot of work to pull off but we got it done. You could technically say that our Reach legendary campaign LAN counts, but I don't think so, no MP games played that day.See, none of my childhood friends really got into video games. They were too busy with drugs and alcohol to actually do anything. Even the few buddies that didn't fall in the pit didn't get into that much. We did one LAN, and it was great, but that was it. And now that I'm in college, literally every single person in my class relies on drugs and alcohol instead of actually doing anything. Quite frustrating.
